The Football Foundation
The Football Foundation is the United Kingdom's largest sports charity, channelling funding from the Premier League, The FA and the government (through Sport England) into transforming the landscape of grassroots sport in England. History Launched in 2000, the Football Foundation awards grants to grassroots clubs and organisations to help build and refurbish new and existing community sports facilities, such as changing pavilions, natural grass pitches or all-weather playing surfaces, for schools, and local authority facilities or sports clubs. Founded in 2000, the Football Foundation is now the largest sports charity in UK. So far, the foundation has used the investment from partners to award more than 17,600 grants to improve facilities worth more than £708m – including 885 artificial grass pitches, 3,587 natural grass pitches and 1,210 changing facilities. Thomas Pendry
Thomas Pendry, Baron Pendry, (born 10 June 1934) is a Labour Party (UK), Labour Party politician and member of the House of Lords. He was previously the Labour member of parliament for Stalybridge and Hyde (UK Parliament constituency), Stalybridge and Hyde from 1970 to 2001. In 2000, prior to his retirement as an Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), MP he was made a member of the Privy Council on the recommendation of Tony Blair. After the 2001 election he was elevated to the peerage on 4 July as Baron Pendry, of Stalybridge in the County of Greater Manchester under the Life Peerages Act 1958. Daniel Meirion Walker (born 19 March 1977) is an English journalist, newsreader and television presenter. He currently presents ''5 News'' on Channel 5. Duncan Ian Watmore (born 8 March 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Championship club Millwall. Watmore previously played for Altrincham, Clitheroe, Curzon Ashton, Sunderland and Hibernian. Christopher George Robin Powell (born 8 September 1969) is an English football coach and former player, who is currently head of coaching at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur's Academy and a coach for the England national team. James Scott Beattie (born 27 February 1978) is an English football coach and a former professional footballer who played as a striker. He most recent coaching role was one of the assistant managers at EFL Championship club Wigan Athletic. He was previously a part of Garry Monk's backroom staff, working with him at Birmingham City, Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday. Nigel Adkins
Nigel Howard Adkins (born 11 March 1965) is an English professional football manager and former player and physiotherapist. Adkins played as a goalkeeper for Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic. Lawrence McMenemy MBE (born 26 July 1936) is an English retired football coach, best known for his spell as manager of Southampton. He is rated in the ''Guinness Book of Records'' as one of the twenty most successful managers in post-war English football. Playing career McMenemy was born in Gateshead. After serving in the Coldstream Guards he began his footballing career with Newcastle United although he never appeared in their first team.
