''The First of May'' (also known as ''Two for the Show'') is a 1998 independent film by Paul Sirmons and Gary Rogers, starring Dan Byrd, Julie Harris, Charles Nelson Reilly, Robin O'Dell, Tom Nowicki, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Rooney. It premiered on 12th October, 1998, in Buena Vista, Florida, at the FMPTA Annual Party. It is notable for being the last film in which Joe DiMaggio appeared. Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival is an international movie event held in Poznań in Poland since 1969. The festival focuses on more ambitious cinema addressed to children and young people. The main organizer of the festival is ''Children's Art Center'' in Poznań. History The festival's roots go back to local reviews of animation and children's films organised in Poznań since 1963. In 1969 it became a national and soon an international children's cinema and television competition, held every two years (later, every four years) during winter holidays for schools. A theme song in the 1980s was "Czekamy na filmy" sung by children band from Poznań; Łejery. It became formally a festival in 1994; since 1995 under the auspices of International Centre of Films for Children and Young People. Until 2005 it took place in June. Julia Ann Harris (December 2, 1925August 24, 2013) was an American actress. Renowned for her classical and contemporary stage work, she received five Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Play. Harris debuted on Broadway in 1945, against the wishes of her mother, who wanted her to be a society debutante. Harris was acclaimed for her performance as an isolated 12-year-old girl in the 1950 play ''The Member of the Wedding'', a role she reprised in the 1952 film of the same name, for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Chicago International Children's Film Festival
In 1983, Facets Multi-Media founded the Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF), the first competitive festival of films for children in the U.S. The impetus for the Festival came from a need to introduce new, culturally diverse films for children to American children's audiences, and to recognize excellence in children's filmmaking. In addition, the Festival sought to empower children by involving them directly in the jurying process. From its inception, the Festival has had independent juries of children and adult media professionals awarding prizes in multiple categories. The Dove Foundation is an American non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon, that issues film reviews, ratings and endorsements of movies that it considers suitable for family audiences, and that bases said reviews on Christian values. CMD Distribution is a faith and family film distribution company, headquartered in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The company distributes, acquires and markets Christian and family-friendly films.
