The Fast Lane
''The Fast Lane'' is an Australian television show that aired between 1985 (Season 1) and 1987 (Season 2) on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It was created by John Clarke and Andrew Knight and starred Terry Bader, Richard Healy, Debra Lawrance and Peter Hosking. According to Debra Lawrance on The Conversation Hour in ABC 774 radio 15 October 2015 (at about 26 mins into the file), the ABC taped over the master Umatic tapes. ABC archives have advised (21 September 2021) that they hold copies of the entire series. Plot Overview This comedy series follows two private investigators, Bryce (Terry Bader) and Ken (Richard Healy), who run a firm known as the "Excelsior Research Foundation". They are assisted by Pat (Debra Lawrance), their receptionist. John Clarke (satirist)
John Morrison Clarke (29 July 1948 – 9 April 2017) was a New Zealand comedian, writer and satirist who lived and worked in Australia from the late 1970s. He was a highly regarded actor and writer whose work appeared on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in both radio and television and also in print. He is principally known for his character Fred Dagg and his long-running collaboration with fellow satirist Bryan Dawe, which lasted from 1989 to his death in 2017, as well as for his success as a comic actor in Australian and New Zealand film and television. Andrew John Knight (born 29 September 1953) is an Australian TV writer and producer of film and television, known for his work on '' ''Rake'''', ''Jack Irish'', ''Hacksaw Ridge'', ''Ali's Wedding'' and ''The Water Diviner''. Debra Lawrance
Debra Lawrance (born 1 January 1957) is an Australian actress. She is best known for her role on '' Home and Away'', as Pippa Ross, which she played from 1990 to 1998, and has made a number of return appearances as the character, the most recent being in 2009. She also had a role in cult serial ''Prisoner'', coincidentally she also appeared in the re-imaging series ''Wentworth'' on Foxtel. Peter Hosking (born 19 December 1947) is an Australian actor and audiobook narrator. Education Hosking graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Dip. Civil Engineering. Career Hosking started acting professionally at The Pram Factory in Melbourne in 1978. In 1996, Hosking received TDK Australian Audio Book Award for ''Home Before Dark''.
