The Fairfax Millions
''The Fairfax Millions'' (russian: Миллионы Ферфакса, Milliony Ferfaksa) is a 1980 Soviet crime film directed by Nikolai Ilinsky based on Alan Winnington's novel of the same name. Plot An influential businessman, millionaire Anthony Fairfax, suffers from a serious illness. With the help of Dr. Jones, a heart transplant operation is performed on him using the heart taken from his brother. Paul Fairfax is a young scapegrace, who eagerly waits the death of Anthony, and is the only legitimate heir to his vast fortune. His heart is genetically the most suitable for transplantation, and on the advice of the doctors Anthony Fairfax agrees to a double murder - Paul and a certain Mr. Jackson, who is supposed to play the role of a donor. Juozas Budraitis (born 6 October 1940) is a Lithuanian actor. He has appeared in more than 60 films and television shows since 1966. He starred in the Soviet film ''Wounded Game'', which was entered into the 1977 Cannes Film Festival. Budraitis also played a minor role in the finale of the period drama miniseries '' The Queen's Gambit''. Biography Juozas Stanislavas Budraitis was born on 6 October 1940 in the village of Liepynai, Kelmė, Lithuania in a peasant family. Eduard Nikolayevich Artemyev ( rus, Эдуа́рд Никола́евич Арте́мьев, p=ɨdʊˈart ɐrˈtʲemʲjɪf; born 30 November 1937) is a Soviet and Russian composer of electronic music and film scores. The Dovzhenko Film Studios ( uk, Національна кіностудія художніх фільмів імені О. Довженка, translit. ''Natsional'na kinostudiya khudozhnikh filmiv imeni O. Dovzhenka'') is a former Soviet film production studio in Ukraine that was named after the Soviet film producer, Oleksandr Dovzhenko, in 1957. Alan Winnington (16 March 1910 – 26 November 1983) was a British journalist, war correspondent, and Communist activist most famous for his coverage of the Korean War and the Chinese revolution. He is most well-known as the author of ''I Saw Truth in Korea'' (1950), an anti-war pamphlet containing photographic evidence of the mass graves of civilians executed by the South Korean police. The publishing of this leaflet led to the British government debating whether to have Winnington tried for treason, a charge which carried the death penalty, though it was decided instead to make him stateless by refusing to renew his passport.
