The Echo (venue)
The Echo is an American music venue and nightclub, located in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The venue is also known for their punk rock shows, which attract long lines of fans. History The Echo opened in 2001. Prior to that, the space was used as a Latin-themed restaurant/nightclub. The front of the building still sports the original name "Nayarit." In 2019, it was announced that Spaceland Productions, who owned and operated The Echo, The Echoplex, and other venues was sold to Live Nation Entertainment. Echo Park is a neighborhood in the east-central region of Los Angeles, California. Located to the northwest of Downtown, it is bordered by Silver Lake to the west and Chinatown to the east. The culturally diverse neighborhood has become known for its trendy local businesses, as well as its popularity with artists, musicians and creatives. It has been home to numerous notable people. Maria Taylor (musician)
Maria Diane Taylor (born May 21, 1976) is an American singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. She is also a member of the duo Azure Ray with Orenda Fink. Taylor plays several instruments, including the guitar, drums, and piano and has collaborated or performed with such artists as Bright Eyes, Phoebe Bridgers, Moby, Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Joshua Radin, and more. Biography Taylor started her musical career at the age of fifteen in the band Little Red Rocket with Orenda Fink which released two CDs on Geffen, ''Who Did You Pay'' (1997) and ''It's in the Sound'' (2000). The group disbanded during the merging of Geffen with Universal Music Group. Taylor later moved to Athens, Georgia along with her musical collaborator, Fink where they formed the band Azure Ray. The Elected are a Los Angeles-based indie rock band. The Elected have released two albums with Sub Pop: '' Me First'' in 2004, and '' Sun, Sun, Sun'' in 2006. Deerhoof
Deerhoof are an American musical group formed in San Francisco in 1994. They currently consist of founding drummer Greg Saunier, bassist and singer Satomi Matsuzaki, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. Beginning as an improvised noise punk band, Deerhoof became widely renowned and influential in the 2000s through self-produced albums. They have released eighteen studio albums since 1997. The Decemberists are an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. Autolux is an American alternative rock band consisting of Eugene Goreshter (vocals, bass), Greg Edwards (vocals, guitar, piano) and Carla Azar (drums, vocals). An Albatross
An Albatross is a noise rock band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. History Formed in the fall of 1999 by guitarist Jake Lisowski, vocalist Edward B. Gieda III, drummer Chris Abbott, bassist Jason Hudak, and organist Phillip Reynolds Price, the band quickly amassed material and recorded their cassette demo "1.) Sex 2.) Bird 3.) Cake." The following summer marked the first of many expansive tours that An Albatross has become renowned for. In 2001, Philadelphian upstart label When Humans Attack! Records produced and released the '' Eat Lightning, Shit Thunder'' 12" EP. Following the release of the 12", the CD version was pressed with permission by Bloodlink Records.
