The Drift (EP)
__NOTOC__ ''The Drift'' is a collaborative EP by producer-composer Arjun Singh and musician Michelle Chamuel. Released in January 2014, the EP is a collection of six original songs and was in the works for about a year. The fifth track "Drift" features vocals by hip hop artist Isaac Castor in a duet with Chamuel. The second track "Not Now" had been released as a single in November 2013. The EP peaked at number 2 on the iTunes Electronic albums chart in 2014. Michelle Chamuel
Michelle Jacqueline Chamuel (born 1986) is an American singer, songwriter and music producer. She has released several works as a solo artist and in partnership with others. She was the lead singer of the band Ella Riot and the runner-up on season four of ''The Voice''. Influenced by Imogen Heap and Max Martin, she is also known by her producer moniker The Reverb Junkie. Her most recent album titled ''Couldn't Stay'' was released in 2020. Early life Chamuel was born in Wellesley, Massachusetts, to Joalie Davie and Jacques Chamuel. Her parents are Jewish of Egyptian descent. Her father was an acoustical engineer and played the violin. She started on piano and violin at an early age. In seventh grade she started to sequence music on a synthesizer, sing and compose. She graduated from Wellesley High School and studied performing arts technology at the University of Michigan. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Face The Fire
''Face the Fire'' is the debut studio album by singer-songwriter Michelle Chamuel. The album was released on February 10, 2015. All songs were written and produced by Chamuel and collaborators Tyler Duncan and Theo Katzman. This was Chamuel's first pop album following her performances on ''The Voice''. The songs are based on the two themes of "universal love" and "authenticity". The album debuted at number 21 on the U.S. Independent Albums chart. Background Chamuel said as a teenager she was obsessed with Max Martin's pop hits on ''Top 40'' radio, and in this album she wanted to produce fun, honest, well-crafted pop music. In February 2014 she got together with former bandmates Duncan and Katzman, and over a three weeks period they wrote the songs from musical nuggets they each had written in advance.
