The Dragon Lives
''The Dragon Lives'' (), also known as ''He's a Legend, He's a Hero'', is a 1976 Hong Kong martial arts film starring Bruce Li and directed by Wang Hsing-lei (credited as Singloy Wang). A fictional account of Bruce Lee's life, it is one of numerous films which exploited the popularity of Lee after his death, a practice called Bruceploitation. The film was released in the United States by Film Ventures International on 19 September 1978. The film has often been mistaken for '' Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth'', another 1976 film depicting Bruce Lee's life and starring Bruce Li. Ni Kuang
Ni Cong (30 May 1935 – 3 July 2022), courtesy name Yiming, better known by his pen name Ni Kuang (also romanised Ngai Hong, I Kuang and Yi Kuang), was a Hong Kong-American novelist and screenwriter. He wrote over 300 Chinese-language ''wuxia'' and science fiction novels, and more than 400 film scripts. Life Ni was born on 30 May 1935, in Shanghai, to a family of intellectuals. He was the fourth child out of seven, and one of his younger siblings is novelist Yi Shu. Betty Ting
Betty Ting (; born Tang Mei-li (); 19 February 1947) is a Taiwanese former actress who was mainly active in the 1970s. Ting is best known for being the center of international speculation regarding the untimely death of Bruce Lee in her apartment. Ting is credited with over 50 films. Early life Ting was born as Tang Mei-li in Taipei City, Taiwan, Republic of China (1912–1949), Republic of China on 19 February 1947. Ting's comes from a medical family of the three generations. Bruceploitation (a portmanteau of "Bruce Lee" and "exploitation") is an exploitation film subgenre that emerged after the death of martial arts film star Bruce Lee in 1973, where filmmakers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea cast Bruce Lee look-alike actors ("Lee-alikes") to star in imitation martial arts films, in order to exploit Lee's sudden international popularity. Lo Wei ( 12 December 1918 – 20 January 1996) was a Hong Kong film director and film actor best known for launching the martial arts film careers of both Bruce Lee, in ''The Big Boss'' and ''Fist of Fury'', and Jackie Chan, in ''New Fist of Fury''. Career Lo began his entertainment career as an actor in the Second World War. He moved to Hong Kong in 1948. During the 1950's Lo became a popular matinee idol. After Lee's death it was Lo who gave Jackie Chan his first shot at the big time as part of the wave of Bruceploitation. Lo is said to have been linked with Chinese organized crime, the Triads. Raymond Chow Man-wai, (; 8 October 1927 – 2 November 2018) was a Hong Kong film producer, and presenter. Bruce Li (; born Ho Chung-tao; 5 June 1950) is a Taiwanese actor, martial arts, martial artist and Bruce Lee imitator who starred in martial arts films from the Bruceploitation movement. Career He went to play a stuntman in Taiwan and Hong Kong under the name of James Ho. After the death of Bruce Lee, Ho Chung-tao's acting career began. Hong Kong studios noticed that Ho resembled the Chinese martial arts, kung fu star. They first employed him in ''Conspiracy''.
