''The Don Rickles Show'' is an American Television comedy, comedy television series. The series stars Don Rickles, Louise Sorel, Erin Moran, Robert Hogan (actor), Robert Hogan, and Joyce Van Patten. The series aired on CBS from January 14 until May 26, 1972. It ranked 56th out of 78 shows that season with an average 15.5 rating. It shares the same title as a short-lived variety series that Rickles had headlined on American Broadcasting Company, ABC in 1968. Premise ''The Don Rickles Show'' focused on an advertising agency executive, and his "life and endless problems" with his job and his family. Don Robinson, the main character, encountered difficulties both at work and at home. His battles apparently did not appeal to audiences, leading to the series's four-month run. Louise Jacqueline Sorel (née Cohen, born August 6, 1940) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Vivian Alamain in '' Days of Our Lives'' from 1992 to 2000, 2009 to 2011, 2017 to 2018, and 2020, Augusta Wainwright on '' Santa Barbara'' from 1984 to 1991, and Emily Tanner on '' Beacon Hill'' since 2014. Early life Sorel was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of a Hollywood producer father and an Egyptian mother who is a professional concert pianist. Samuel Denoff (July 1, 1928 – July 8, 2011) was an American screenwriter and television producer. Biography Denoff was born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Esther (Rothbard) and Harry Denoff, a salesman. With his long-time collaborator Bill Persky he wrote and created the television show ''That Girl'' starring Marlo Thomas. Their writing collaboration on episodes of ''The Dick Van Dyke Show'' resulted in some of the show's most popular episodes. Denoff also wrote for the 1976 Danny Thomas situation comedy ''The Practice''. Personal life Denoff married twice. His first wife was Bernice Levey; they had two children, Leslie Denoff and producer Douglas Denoff.
