Alice Practice
''Alice Practice'' is the debut EP from Crystal Castles, released on Merok Records on 9 July 2006. The release was limited to 500 copies on 7" vinyl and sold out in three days. The title track, "Alice Practice", was claimed to be a soundcheck secretly recorded by the sound engineer before the band launched into a five-song recording session in 2005. This story has since been denied by Alice Glass, who claimed that this was untrue and that Ethan Kath fictionalised the story to minimise her input into the band. Crystal Castles later performed "Alice Practice" on an episode of the British television series '' Skins''. After being featured on the show, demand for the ''Alice Practice'' EP grew rapidly. In October 2011, ''NME'' rated the song number 29 on its list of "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years". The track "Air War" garnered attention from prominent indie website Pitchfork Media ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (curren ...

Production of ''Rainbow'' had commenced after the release of Hamasaki's fourth studio album '' I Am...'' that January; All lyrics were written by Hamasaki, and Japanese producer Max Matsuura returned to produce the album. New York Dolls
New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. Along with the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, they were one of the first bands of the early punk rock scenes. Although the band never achieved much commercial success and their original line-up fell apart quickly, the band's first two albums—'' New York Dolls'' (1973) and '' Too Much Too Soon'' (1974)—became among the most popular cult records in rock. The line-up at this time consisted of, vocalist David Johansen, guitarist Johnny Thunders, bassist Arthur Kane, guitarist and pianist Sylvain Sylvain, and drummer Jerry Nolan; the latter two had replaced Rick Rivets and Billy Murcia, respectively, in 1972. On stage, they donned an androgynous wardrobe, wearing high heels, eccentric hats, satin, makeup, spandex, and dresses. Nolan described the group in 1974 as "the Dead End Kids of today". According to the ''Encyclopedia of Popular Music'' (1995), the New York Dolls predated the punk and glam m ...

Formed in 2000, the group consists of Amanda Palmer (lead vocals and piano; additional: keyboards, harmonica, ukulele) and Brian Viglione (drums and backing vocals; additional: guitar, bass guitar). The Dresden Dolls are part of an underground dark cabaret movement that started gaining momentum in the early 2000s. Career Band formation and name The duo formed a week after Brian Viglione witnessed Amanda Palmer perform solo at a Halloween party in 2000. Their live performances soon gained them a cult following. During these performances the two band members often wore dramatic make-up and fancy clothing that pushed their cabaret/theater aesthetic. They encourage fans to become involved at their shows, with th ...

Destiny's Child
Destiny's Child was an American girl group whose final line-up comprised Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. The group began their musical career as Girl's Tyme, formed in 1990 in Houston, Texas. After years of limited success, the original quartet comprising Knowles, Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett were signed in 1997 to Columbia Records as Destiny's Child. The group was launched into mainstream recognition following the release of the song " No, No, No" and their best-selling second album, ''The Writing's on the Wall'' (1999), which contained the number-one singles "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Say My Name". Despite critical and commercial success, the group was plagued by internal conflict and legal turmoil, as Roberson and Luckett attempted to split from the group's manager Mathew Knowles, citing favoritism of Knowles and Rowland. In early 2000, both Roberson and Luckett were replaced with Williams and Farrah Franklin; however, Franklin ...
