Zafar Choudhary (Urdu: ظفر چودھری) is an Indian journalist, author, policy analyst, and practitioner of peace-building. He is the founding editor-in-chief of ''The Dispatch'', an Indian online news, opinion, and analysis portal centered in Jammu & Kashmir. He received his education at the London School of Economics and Political Science and is an Asia Society Fellow (2012). He is a member of Editors Guild of India, a national organization of editors and journalists. He was born in the remote village Rehan in the district Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir in 1975. An expert on Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Choudhary has been widely recognized and interviewed by the international and national press on Jammu and Kashmir affairs, India–Pakistan relations, national security and geopolitics. Rajouri or Rajauri (; Pahari: 𑠤𑠬𑠑𑠶𑠤𑠮, راجوری; sa, राजपुर, ) is a city in Rajouri district in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located about from Srinagar and from Jammu city on the Poonch Highway. The city is the location of the birthplace of Sikh Rajput General Banda Singh Bahadur. Jammu Division
The Jammu division (; ) is a revenue and administrative division within Jammu and Kashmir, a union territory of India. It consists of the districts of Jammu, Doda, Kathua, Ramban, Reasi, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur and Samba. Most of the land is hilly or mountainous, including the Pir Panjal Range which separates it from the Kashmir Valley and part of the Great Himalayas in the eastern districts of Doda and Kishtwar.
