The Devil Went Down To The Holy Land
''The Devil Went Down to the Holy Land'' is Israeli groove metal band Betzefer's third full-length studio album, released in 25 November 2013. To fund the album's mixing and mastering, the band started a campaign on the Indiegogo website to raise money from donations by fans. During the campaign, the album was originally titled ''Suicide Hotline''. The album was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen, who also mixed and mastered the band's first album '' Down Low'', on 2–9 September 2012. On 11 September 2012, the band revealed the album's track list, being made up from 14 tracks, the longest Betzefer album to date. The band began working on several music videos for several songs off the album: a lyrics video for "I Hate" in October 2012, a stop motion animated video for "The Devil Went Down to the Holy Land" in December 2012, a live music video for "Can You Hear Me Now" in January 2013, as well as another live music video for "Sledgehammer" in April 2013. Betzefer ( he, בצפר) is an Israeli groove metal band originating from the community settlement Maccabim-Re'ut. The band was formed up in 1998 and was signed to Roadrunner Records from 2005 to 2007. Betzefer is notable for becoming Israel's first heavy metal band to have released its debut album on a major heavy metal label. Betzefer's biggest influence is Slayer, while Pantera and Sepultura are also credited as being major influences. The band's second album was produced by Down producer Warren Riker. Matan Cohen (born February 8, 1982) is an Israeli musician best known for his work as the guitarist for successful groove/metalcore band Betzefer and the recently reunited melodic death metal band Nail Within. Cohen is also a frequent collaborator of comedy punk rock act Bo La'Bar featuring his Nail Within co-members Evil Haim, and Useless ID members Ishay Berger and Jonathan Harpak. Down Low (album)
''Down Low'' is Israeli groove metal band Betzefer's first full-length studio album and major label debut on Roadrunner Records, as well as their only album on that label. It was released on May 19, 2005, in Israel and June 6, 2005, worldwide. It is the band's first release with current bassist Rotem Inbar. "Down Low", "Early Grave" and "Running Against" were released as singles and videos were made for those songs. "Fuckin Rock N' Roll" was released for radio airplay and as a promotional CD single, but a video was not made for the song. The ending of "Down Low" is a ripoff from Machine Head's "Davidian", though uncredited.
