The Demos are a collection of demos from the album ''Fear Fun ''Fear Fun'' is the first studio album released by American folk musician Josh Tillman under his pseudonym Father John Misty. It was released on April 30, 2012, in the UK and Europe on Bella Union, and in the rest of the world on May 1, 2012, on ...'' by Father John Misty. The sound of the EP is sparse, noisy and minimalistic, producing the typical "demo sound". The track "Nothing Hurts Worse" is exclusive to this release. The EP was given away free with the mail preorders of the limited "Losers" LP edition. The "Losers" edition is pressed on pink marble vinyl and limited to 850 copies. Father John Misty
Joshua Michael Tillman (born May 3, 1981), better known by his stage name Father John Misty, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He has also performed and released studio albums under the name J. Tillman. Maintaining a steady output of solo recordings since 2004, Tillman has been either a permanent or touring member of Demon Hunter, Saxon Shore, Fleet Foxes, Jeffertitti's Nile, Pearly Gate Music, Siberian, Har Mar Superstar, Poor Moon, Low Hums, and Jonathan Wilson, and has toured extensively with Damien Jurado, Jesse Sykes, and David Bazan. He has also made contributions to albums by more mainstream artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi, and Post Malone. ''Fear Fun'' is the first studio album released by American folk musician Josh Tillman under his pseudonym Father John Misty. It was released on April 30, 2012, in the UK and Europe on Bella Union, and in the rest of the world on May 1, 2012, on Sub Pop Produced by both Tillman and Jonathan Wilson, the album was released following Tillman's departure from Fleet Foxes. The album debuted at No. 43 on Top Rock Albums and at No. 123 on ''Billboard'' 200, with 4,000 copies sold in its first week. It has sold 83,000 copies in the US as of February 2015.
