''The Darkstryder Campaign'' is an adventure published by West End Games in 1996 for the science fiction role-playing game '' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game''. Publication history Shannon Appelcline, in the 2014 book ''Designers & Dragons: The '80s'', noted that after West End Games published a second edition of the ''Star Wars'' role-playing game in 1992, "The ''Star Wars'' line was even enjoying something of a renaissance, with some innovative material going to press, notably the ''DarkStryder Campaign'' (1996), which took a darker look at the ''Star Wars'' universe." West End Games
West End Games (WEG) was a company that made Board game, board, Role-playing game, role-playing, and wargaming, war games. It was founded by Daniel Scott Palter in 1974 in New York City, but later moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Its product lines included ''Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, Star Wars'', ''Paranoia (game), Paranoia'', ''Torg'', ''DC Universe Roleplaying Game, DC Universe'', and ''Junta (game), Junta''. The ''D6 System'' is a role-playing game system published by West End Games (WEG) and licensees. While the system is primarily intended for pen-and-paper role-playing games, variations of the system have also been used in live action role-playing games and miniature battle games. The system is named after the 6-sided die, which is used in every roll required by the system. System Attributes and skills Characters in the ''D6 System'' are defined by attributes and skills. Attributes represent the raw ability of a character in a certain area. Space Opera
Space opera is a subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes space warfare, with use of melodramatic, risk-taking space adventures, relationships, and chivalric romance. Set mainly or entirely in outer space, it features technological and social advancements (or lack thereof) in faster-than-light travel, futuristic weapons, and sophisticated technology, on a backdrop of galactic empires and interstellar wars with fictional aliens, often in fictional galaxies. Timothy Zahn (born September 1, 1951) is an American writer of science fiction and fantasy. He is known best for his prolific collection of ''Star Wars'' List of Star Wars books, books, chiefly the Thrawn trilogy, ''Thrawn'' series, and has published several other series of sci-fi and fantasy novels of his own original creation, in addition to many works of short fiction. Daniel Scott Palter
Daniel Scott Palter (died February 17, 2020) was a game designer who worked primarily on wargames and role-playing games. Early life and education Scott Palter received an AB from Dartmouth, then a JD from Stanford in 1972, and joined the New York State Bar before he began work at the family firm, Bucci Imports. Palter also playtested wargames for SPI, RAND, Morningside Games and others. West End Games In 1974, Palter used some of the financial resources of Bucci Imports to found West End Games (WEG) in New York. Initially, WEG published wargames, including some of Palter's own designs such as '' Marlborough at Blenheim'' (1979). In 1983, Palter hired Ken Rolston, Eric Goldberg and Greg Costikyan as game designers, and WEG's focus turned away from traditional wargames. Pablo Hidalgo
Pablo Hidalgo is a Chilean-born creative executive based in California, currently working for Lucasfilm on the '' Star Wars'' franchise. Early work Hidalgo was born in Santiago, Chile and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In 1987 he became a fan of the role-playing game (RPG) resources published West End Games, the only official source of ''Star Wars'' content in the late 1980s and took it upon himself to become knowledgeable of the universe to create better stories for the group of friends he was playing it with. Miranda Horner
Miranda Horner is an American game designer and editor who has worked on a number of products for various role-playing games, including ''Dungeons & Dragons'' and the ''Star Wars'' roleplaying game. Biography Miranda Horner was born in Waukegan, Illinois, was raised in Texas, and moved to Kansas City shortly before attending college there. Evil Hat Productions is a company that produces role-playing games and other tabletop games. Chief among them is the free indie RPG, ''Fate'', which has won numerous awards. History Fred Hicks had been working with Lydia Leong, Rob Donoghue, and others to run LARPs at AmberCon NorthWest starting in 1999, and came up with the name Evil Hat for themselves. Philip Tan
Philip Tan (born 1978) is a comic book writer/artist best known for his work on ''Spawn'', ''Uncanny X-Men'' and ''Iron Man''. Career Tan graduated at the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. Tan was the penciller of '' Final Crisis: Revelations'' as well as the "Agent Orange" ''Green Lantern'' story arc, which started in ''Green Lantern'' #39 and ran through issue 42. Christopher Moeller (born May 1, 1963) is an American writer and painter, specializing in fully painted graphic novels. Moeller's signature creation is the Iron Empires science-fiction universe, comprising three fully painted graphic novels Faith Conquers, Sheva's War and Void, a short story in Dark Horse Presents, and a second in the anthology Negative Burn.
