The Cupid Club
''The Cupid Club'' (French: ''Bal Cupidon'') is a 1949 comedy film, comedy crime film directed by Marc-Gilbert Sauvajon and starring Pierre Blanchar, Simone Renant and Yves Vincent.Rège p.913 It was shot during 1948, but released the following year. It was made at the Photosonor Studios in Paris, with sets designed by the art director Eugène Delfau. Synopsis Flip, an amateur detective is arrested for speeding and is prosecuted by the lawyer Isabelle and convicted. When shortly afterwards a man is murdered the two join forces to investigate. Much of the mystery surrounds a nightclub Bal Cupidon whose owner was having an affair with the dead man's wife. Marc-Gilbert Sauvajon
Marc-Gilbert Sauvajon (25 September 1909, Valence, Drôme – 15 April 1985, Montpellier) was a French film director, script-writer, playwright and author. After studying law, he was made chief editor of the daily newspaper ''Sud-Est''. He founded the journal '' Valence-Républicain''. His play "All in the Family", adapted by Victor Wolfson, was given its first performance at the Strand Theatre, London on 17 June 1959. It was directed by Norman Marshall and designed by Paul Mayo. She was married to the industrialist Jean Versini and then to the actor Claude Dauphin. They had two children, the actor Jean-Claude Dauphin and Elena Adriana Negru.
