The Cube (game Show)
''The Cube'' is a British television game show that aired on ITV from 22 August 2009 to 23 December 2021. It is hosted by Phillip Schofield. The original series offered contestants the chance to win a top prize of £250,000 by completing challenges from within a 4m × 4m × 4m perspex cube. It was based on the idea that even straightforward tasks become extremely challenging when confined and put under pressure inside a small, enclosed area whilst surrounded by a live studio audience. Once inside, contestants could feel both claustrophobic and disoriented, affecting their concentration and abilities. Using "state-of-the-art filming techniques", the show aims to demonstrate the intense anxiety which contestants undergo as they progress through each task. The challenges involve physical and mental tasks including catching, throwing, estimation, reacting, memorisation, and balancing. Adam Adler
Adam Adler is a British television executive producer, who is currently the managing director of Gameface Productions. He is best known for creating the triple BAFTA Award–winning television series '' The Cube''. Filmography Career Adam worked for Channel 4 where he was a Commissioning Editor for Entertainment. He previously worked in development at Endemol and Granada. Adler joined Objective Productions in 2007, but is now the managing director of Gameface Productions. Objective Productions Adler and Objective Productions first approached Channel 4 in 2008 with the format for '' The Cube''. It was made into a non-televised pilot by the channel, presented by Justin Lee Collins. Channel 4 eventually decided not to commission the show because it would have been too expensive. Perspex
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) belongs to a group of materials called engineering plastics. It is a transparent thermoplastic. Bullet Time
Bullet time (also known as frozen moment, dead time, flow motion or time slice) is a visual effect or visual impression of detaching the time and space of a camera (or viewer) from those of its visible subject. It is a depth enhanced simulation of variable-speed action and performance found in films, broadcast advertisements, and realtime graphics within video games and other special media. It is characterized by its extreme transformation of both time (slow enough to show normally imperceptible and unfilmable events, such as flying bullets), and of space (by way of the ability of the camera angle—the audience's point-of-view—to move around the scene at a normal speed while events are slowed). Justin Lee Collins
Justin Lee Collins (born 28 July 1974) is an actor and former radio and television presenter from Bristol, England. Collins began his career as a stand up comedian in the 1990s when he was in his late teens. He then presented a number of TV shows. From 2003 to 2005 he hosted his own radio show on XFM. He was one of the duo presenting ''The Sunday Night Project'' (previously named ''The Friday Night Project''), appearing alongside Alan Carr for Channel 4. He also hosted numerous specials on Channel 4 entitled 'Bring Back...', reuniting the cast and crew from shows and films such as ''Dallas'', ''Star Wars'', ''The A-Team'' and '' Fame''.
