''The Cordillera of Dreams'' ( es, La cordillera de los sueños / french: La Cordillère des songes) is a 2019 Chilean-French documentary film directed by Patricio Guzmán. It is considered the third installment in a trilogy of films by Guzmán about his native country, Chile, alongside ''Nostalgia for the Light'' (2010) and '' The Pearl Button'' (2015). The film was nominated for Best Documentary Film at the 45th César Awards, being the second nomination for Guzmán in this category after ''The Pearl Button'' in 2016. The film was selected as the Chilean entry for Best Iberoamerican Film at the 36th Goya Awards, later receiving the nomination. Release The film premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in the Special screenings section. At the festival, the film shared the L'Œil d'or award with ''For Sama''. Patricio Guzmán
Patricio Guzmán Lozanes (born August 11, 1941) is a Chilean documentary film director. He is most known for his films ''The Battle of Chile'' (1975-1979) and ''Salvador Allende'' (2004). Career Guzmán also teaches documentary film classes in Europe and Latin America, and is the founder and director of the International Documentary Festival of Santiago (FIDOCS). He lives in France. His 1983 film ''The Compass Rose'' was entered into the 13th Moscow International Film Festival. His 2015 film ''The Pearl Button'' screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. The Goya Awards ( es, Premios Goya) are Spain's main national annual film awards, commonly referred to as the Academy Awards of Spain. The César Award is the national film award of France. It is delivered in the ' ceremony and was first awarded in 1976. The nominations are selected by the members of twelve categories of filmmaking professionals and supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
