The Cook Up With Adam Liaw
''The Cook Up with Adam Liaw'' is an Australian television cooking and talk series presented by Adam Liaw. It is produced by Kismet Productions in association with SBS Food. It premiered on 19 April 2021. The series sees Liaw chatting and cooking with guests including Colin Fassnidge, Julie Goodwin, Jock Zonfrillo, Yumi Stynes, Jessica Rowe and Jimmy Barnes. Production With a 200 episode commitment for the first season, it was the largest new commission in SBS's history. The show aired its 500th episode in 2023; it is SBS's largest ever commissioned program. Episodes are filmed ahead of broadcast, with three or four episodes shot in a day. Adam Liaw
Adam Liaw ( zh, t=廖崇明, p=Lià o ChóngmÃng; born 8 September 1978) is a Malaysian-born Australian cook, television presenter and author. He was the winner of the second season of ''MasterChef Australia'', defeating student Callum Hann in the final. Early life Liaw was born in Penang, Malaysia, to a Malaysian Chinese father, Dr Siaw-Lin Liaw, and a Singaporean-born English mother, Dr Joyce Hill AM. He is the second of three children, with an older brother and younger sister. His family moved to Adelaide when Liaw was age 3. After his parents divorced and his mother moved to New Zealand, Liaw lived with his paternal grandmother whom he credits with a huge influence on his cooking and his life. James Dixon "Jimmy" Barnes (née Swan; born 28 April 1956) is a Scottish-born Australian rock singer. His career, both as a solo performer and as the lead vocalist with the rock band Cold Chisel, has made him one of the most popular and best-selling Australian music artists of all time. SBS Food is an Australian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS). The channel airs programs about food and cooking, from cultures around the world. History SBS first revealed it would launch a channel dedicated to food on 30 September 2015, following the Australian Government's decision to not permit the public broadcaster to increase the amount of primetime advertising it is allowed to broadcast.
