''The Contender 3'' is a reality television show based on the sport of boxing, but with an element of the (super middleweight) competitor's lives and relationships with each other within the show's living quarters, based in Pasadena, California. The first episode aired September 4 on ESPN, with a live finale on November 6 at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston. Full fight matches from the show air as bonus episodes on ESPN2. Sam Soliman
Sam Soliman (born 13 November 1973) is an Australian professional boxer, and former kickboxer and mixed martial artist. In boxing, he held the IBF middleweight title in 2014. Kickboxing career Soliman is a former world champion in kickboxing, and also competed in Muay Thai. Professional boxing career On 20 April 1997, Soliman made his professional boxing debut, defeating Heath Stenton by four-round unanimous decision (UD). In the first half of his career he won a multitude of regional titles, from light-middleweight to cruiserweight. James Walter "Buddy" McGirt (born January 17, 1964) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1982 to 1997, and has since worked as a boxing trainer. He held world championships in two weight class (boxing), weight classes, including the International Boxing Federation, IBF junior welterweight title in 1988, and the World Boxing Council, WBC and lineal championship, lineal welterweight titles from 1991 to 1993. Donny McCrary (born October 15, 1982 in St. Joseph, Missouri) is an Irish-American professional boxer. Professional career Known as "The Savage", McCrary began his professional career in 2003, and has lost to contenders Lucian Bute, Kofi Jantuah, Allan Green, and Yuri Foreman.
