''The Connection'' is the debut album by American rapper DeLon. It was officially released on September 27, 2005. The first single from the album was "Calor de la Salsa", which peaked at No. 15 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Singles Sales chart and established DeLon as the first Sri Lankan to ever chart on the US ''Billboard'' charts. Dilan Jayasingha (born March 14, 1980), known professionally as Dilan Jay, is an American actor, singer, and producer. He was the first artist from his country of heritage (Sri Lanka) to place on the U.S. ''Billboard'' charts and have a No. 1 on MTV's Most Popular Music videos. Reggae fusion is a genre of reggae that mixes reggae and/or dancehall with other genres, such as pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, jazz, funk, soul, disco, electronic and latin. Origin Although artists have been mixing reggae with other genres from as early as the early 1970s, no official term had been used to describe this practice. Yellow Rat Bastard is the flagship establishment in a chain of New York City retail clothing stores and print magazine owned by Henry Ishay. It specializes in hip hop and alternative-style clothing and shoes. Salsa music is a style of Latin American music. Because most of the basic musical components predate the labeling of salsa, there have been many controversies regarding its origin. Most songs considered as salsa are primarily based on son montuno, with elements of Mambo (music), mambo, Latin jazz, Bomba (Puerto Rico), bomba, plena and guaracha. Soca music is a genre of music defined by Lord Shorty, its inventor, as the "Soul of Calypso", which has influences of African and East Indian rhythms.
