The Common Room
''The Common Room'' is an interactive TV show on ITV Play. ''The Common Room'' main presenters were Tim Dixon and Emma Lee. Zö Christien also presented occasionally. Format ''The Common Room'' launched on ITV Play on Monday 31 July 2006. ''The Common Room'' later dropped their puzzles/quizzes and converted to a text-in format. A daily theme was usually set allowing viewers to text-in with their opinions. Pictures and videos were sent in as well. Prizes could be rewarded for the best picture/video and text—these are usually small, non-cash prizes such as an ITV Play T-shirt, a Slinky, a pen, or sometimes an electronic item such as an MP3 Player. The presenter also gave out celebrity gossip, facts or general news. Viewers could phone, text or send an MMS to take part in the show. People's text messages were always on the screen and occasionally photos and videos were shown. On occasion the show takes a live on-air phone call with a viewer. ITV Play (channel)
ITV Play was a short-lived 24/7 participation television channel in the United Kingdom owned by ITV plc. The ITV Play name continued as a strand on the main ITV Network until December 2007. It was launched as a standalone channel on Freeview (taking on the slot which was previously occupied by the Men & Motors channel) on 19 April 2006 and started broadcasting on the Sky platform on 24 July 2006. The ITV Play channel was created in response to and hoping to cash in on the popularity of late night quiz shows on the ITV Network and ITV2 such as ''Quizmania'' and ''The Mint''. ITV Play also offered additional gambling services on their website. It cost at least 75p per call to participate. This charge was made even if the caller was not put through to the studio. A free entry route was available through the website. Users were restricted to 150 calls/web entries in a 24-hour period. Tim Dixon
Tim Dixon (born 19 February 1984) is an English television presenter who rose to prominence in 2003. Aged just 21, in 2005 he was described by Flextech as "The best young up-and-coming television presenting talent in the UK". Education Dixon was educated at Devonport High School for Boys, a grammar school in Plymouth, between 1995 and 2002. Early magical career Dixon was, upon joining in 1995, the youngest ever member of the Plymouth Magic Circle. He made numerous appearances in Plymouth performing close-up magic in bars, restaurants and at private functions.
