The Collectors (TV Series)
''The Collectors'' is a British television drama about Her Majesty's Customs and Excise in the fictional Dorset town of Wrelling. Produced by the BBC, one series of 10 episodes was first shown in 1986. Location scenes were filmed around the English resorts of Poole and Weymouth, in particular featuring the old Poole Customs House on the harbour. Peter McEnery
Peter Robert McEnery (born 21 February 1940) is a retired English stage and film actor. Early life McEnery was born in Walsall, Staffordshire, to Charles and Ada Mary (née Brinson) McEnery. He was educated at Ellesmere College, Shropshire. His younger brothers are actor John and the photographer David. Michael Billington (actor)
Michael Billington (24 December 1941 – 3 June 2005) was a British film and television actor. He was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. Career Television In 1966 Billington appeared in ''Incident at Vichy'' at the Phoenix Theatre in London, but was best known for his role as Colonel Paul Foster in the 1970 science fiction TV series ''UFO'' and for creating the character of Daniel Fogarty from 1971 to 1974 in the historical drama ''The Onedin Line''. He also appeared as Sergeant Jacko Jackson of the Royal Wessex Rangers in the series '' Spearhead'' and as Czar Nicholas II in the ITV drama series ''Edward the Seventh'' (1975). He played gangster John Coogan in one episode ("The Rack") of '' The Professionals''. Billington lived in the U.S. from around 1979 until 1985. Pierre Vaneck
Pierre Vaneck (born Pierre Auguste Van Hecke; 15 April 1931 – 31 January 2010) was a French actor. During his career, he won a Molière Award in 1988 and received a César Award nomination in 2009. Biography Son of a Belgian army officer, Pierre Vaneck spent his youth in Antwerp, Belgium, until the age of 17, when he started medical studies in Paris, France. Before long, he branched into studying acting, first at the Rene Simon school, and then at the Theatre Academy, under Henri Rollan. Poole
Poole () is a large coastal town and seaport in Dorset, on the south coast of England. The town is east of Dorchester and adjoins Bournemouth to the east. Weymouth, Dorset
Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset, on the English Channel coast of England. Situated on a sheltered bay at the mouth of the River Wey, south of the county town of Dorchester, Weymouth had a population of 53,427 in 2021. Poole Harbour
Poole Harbour is a large natural harbour in Dorset, southern England, with the town of Poole on its shores. The harbour is a drowned valley (ria) formed at the end of the last ice age and is the estuary of several rivers, the largest being the Frome.
