The Coast (EP)
''The Coast'' is the debut EP from Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based indie rock group The Coast. The EP was first self-released in Canada on March 7, 2006, then released in the US by Aporia Records on May 29, 2007. The EP was produced by the band and Chris Hegge, who also provided backing vocals on "Evening's Heights." In 2004, when The Coast was known as The July 26th Movement, they released an EP titled ''Take a Walk Outside'', featuring an early version of the song of the same name found on the self-titled EP. The EP garnered critical acclaim in Canadian music press. The Coast was a Canadian indie rock group, based in Toronto, Ontario. The Coast was Ben Spurr (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ian Fosbery (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and brothers Luke Melchiorre (bass, vocals) and Jordan Melchiorre (drums). Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. ''Expatriate'' is the debut album from Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based indie rock group The Coast. The album was released in Canada on April 1, 2008, and in the UK on February 9, 2009, via Aporia Records. The album was released digitally in the US on August 19, 2008, and was released on CD on May 5, 2009, by Minneapolis-based indie record label Afternoon Records. ''Expatriate'' follows the band's critically acclaimed debut self-titled EP from 2006. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Chris Stringer in late 2007. "Tightrope" was the first single, released on 7" vinyl in 2008 by Magnificent Sevens, and as a promo single in the UK in early February 2009. Audiolab is a British manufacturer of audio equipment. It specializes in affordable systems and has a range of stereo and surround sound systems. During its ownership under McLaren Group it was named TAGMcLaren Audio. History Audiolab was founded by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland in 1983. They met as students of Imperial College, and shared a common frustration of the high cost of hi-fi equipment and the difficulty of use. The first product was the 8000A integrated amplifier, followed by the 8000C preamplifier, the 8000P power amplifier and 8000M mono-blocks. As the company grew, they developed new products including CD players, transports, radio tuners and digital-to-analog converters. Audiolab was taken over by TAG McLaren in 1998.
