The Chronicle (TV Series)
''The Chronicle'' is an American science fiction television series that was broadcast on the Sci-Fi Channel from July 14, 2001, to March 22, 2002. The series is based on the ''News from the Edge'' series of novels (for example, ''Vampires from Vermont'') by Mark Sumner, a St. Louis-based author. The series was originally sold to NBC, which shot the pilot, but later found a home on Sci-Fi Channel. The original creative producers who brought the series to television were German Michael Torres and Trevor Taylor. Premise The show centers on a group of journalists at a tabloid newspaper, ''The Chronicle'', and the contradictions that transpire when they realize that the various monsters, aliens, and mutants turn out to be real. Silvio Horta
Silvio Horta (August 14, 1974 – January 7, 2020) was an American screenwriter and television producer widely noted for adapting the hit Colombian telenovela ''Yo soy Betty, la fea'' into the ABC series ''Ugly Betty''. Horta served as head writer and executive producer on the series. Background and death Horta, a first-generation Cuban-American, was born and raised in Miami. He was a popular performer and playwright in high school, attending both International Baccalaureate Theater, and Experimental Theater programs at Coral Gables Senior in Miami. After graduating in 1992, he attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, majoring in film. Horta was openly gay, coming out to his family at 19. Hans Anthony Beimler (born July 10, 1953) is a Mexican-born American television writer and producer, known for his work on ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. He has collaborated frequently with producer Richard Manning. Early life Beimler was born in Mexico City, Mexico. His father, a German immigrant, was a commercial director and cameraman and his mother, an American, was an author and painter. He is the grandson of the historical political figure Hans Beimler. He attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 1977 with a degree in film production.
