The Christianaires
The Christianaires was an American black gospel music group from Sontag, Mississippi, they were active from 1989 until 2004. At its inception, The group consisted of two sibling pairs, two brothers, Arnold and Ronald Brown, and two more brothers, Paul and Tyrone Porter. Later on with the subtraction of Paul Porter and Ronald Brown, the group added George Carter and Charles Porter. They released ten albums with various labels during their tenure, and those were 1989's ''Walking with Me'', 1990's ''Ain't No Way I Could'' and ''Another Step Forward'', 1993's ''The Vision Becomes Clearer'', 1995's ''Thru the Storm'' and ''Reaching Out'', 1997's ''Saints Hold On'', 1998's ''Standing Room Only'', 2001's ''Thank You'', and 2004's ''Stand Up! Urban Contemporary Gospel
Urban/contemporary gospel is a modern subgenre of gospel music. Although the style developed gradually, early forms are generally dated to the 1970s, and the genre was well established by the end of the 1980s. The radio format is pitched primarily to African-Americans. Christian hip hop can be considered a subtype of this genre. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of gospel music varies according to culture and social context. Paul Leroy Porter (born August 20, 1962) is an American gospel musician. He started his solo music career, in 2008, with the release of, ''A New Day'', that was released by Light Records. His second album, ''F.R.E.E.'', was released in 2014, with the backing of Motown Gospel releasing the project. These albums both charted on the ''Billboard'' Gospel Albums chart. Early life Porter was born on August 20, 1962, as Paul Leroy Porter, to father Reverend Eddie Porter and mother, Ora Porter. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and started singing at the age of three on Easter Sunday. He is a cousin of rapper and producer, Denaun Porter, better known as Kon Artis of the rap group D12.
