The 57th Academy Awards were presented March 25, 1985, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles. Jack Lemmon presided over the ceremonies. Klaus Hagerup (5 March 1946 – 20 December 2018) was a Norwegian author, translator, screenwriter, actor and director. He was also known for his role of Tom in the film ''The Chieftain'' (1984). Career The youngest of two brothers, he debuted with the poem collection "''Slik tenker jeg på dere''" ("This is how I think about you") in 1969. During 1968–69 he worked at the Bergen theatre Den Nationale Scene and later at Nationaltheatret and Hålogaland Teater as an actor, instructor, director and writer. Arne Hestenes, pen name Plut (29 January 1920 – 3 January 1995) was a Norwegian journalist and author. He wrote feature pieces (literary journalism) and was a restaurant critic and film critic. Biography Arne Magnus Hestenes was born in Tromsø as a son of manager Ola Hestenes (1891–1961) and Gerda Kristine Larsen (1897–1963). He was a brother of barrister Olav Hestenes. Sverre Anker Ousdal (born 18 July 1944) is a Norwegian actor born in Flekkefjord, Norway. Biography Ousdal made his debut in 1965 at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen. He worked at the Oslo Nye Teater between 1967 and 1970, and is since 1970 part of Norway's National Theatre ensemble. Sigbjørn Bernhoft Osa (3 May 1910 2 February 1990) was a Norwegian fiddler and traditional folk musician. He was one of the best known Norwegian performers of folk music in the 1900s. Personal life Osa was born in Ulvik, Hardanger as the son of fiddler and painter Lars Osa and children's writer Hermine Bernhoft-Osa. He spent his first years in Valle, Setesdal, and moved to Voss when he was six years old. He was married to Kersti Alice Grambo from 1937, and to Anne Heggtveit from 1950. This is a list of submissions to the 57th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country.
