The Chemical Wedding (Danielle Dax Album)
''The Chemical Wedding'' is a compilation album by Danielle Dax released exclusively in Japan in November 1987, containing rare and previously unreleased songs. Eight songs are included on this album, four of which had been previously released as B-sides to singles from ''Inky Bloaters'', while the other four songs had not been released in the U.K. before. Of the four previously unreleased songs, three would appear the following year on the U.S. compilation album ''Dark Adapted Eye'' in the form of new mixes/masters and even a new recording. Danielle Dax
Danielle Dax (born 23 September 1958) is an English experimental musician and producer most active from the late-1970s to the mid-1990s. Early life She was born Danielle Gardner, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Dax's first performance on stage in London was when she was a pre-teen. She sang in Benjamin Britten's opera, ''Noye's Fludde'' (Noah's Flood), at the Royal Albert Hall. Preceding this, the first time Dax appeared on stage was at the age of three as an orange Jelly Baby on the Southend bandstand. After a short modelling career (she won the "Miss Evening Echo" competition in 1976), she turned music. Career Dax made her "pop" musical debut in 1979, within three weeks of joining the group Amii Toytal and the Croixroads – this was a pseudonym for the Lemon Kittens – as keyboardist, flautist and saxophonist. Inky Bloaters
''Inky Bloaters'' is the third solo album by Danielle Dax, an English experimental musician and former member of the Lemon Kittens. It was originally recorded between 1985 & 1987, and released in 1987 on the Awesome Records label. This was the last album by Dax released on the Awesome label before signing with Sire. The album was re-released in 1993 on the Biter of Thorpe label (BOT131-04CD) and distributed through World Serpent Distribution. Dax wrote all the lyrics for the album and shared music writing and arrangement with David Knight. Dax provided vocals, guitars, keyboards, flute, sitar, kalimba, percussion and drone guitar. David Knight played guitars, tapes, keyboards, percussion and drone guitar. Ian Sturgess played additional bass, harmonica, jaw harp and percussion. Dark Adapted Eye
''Dark Adapted Eye'' is a compilation album by Danielle Dax, an English experimental musician, formerly of The Lemon Kittens. Released in 1988 on Sire Records on LP, cassette and CD, it consisted of material from albums and singles released on her own label, Awesome Records, and was the first release of her material in North America. After being out of print for years, the CD was reissued in the U.S. by the Noble Rot label in 2008. In 2019, the U.S. label Rubellan Remasters remastered the album and reissued it on CD with several bonus tracks different from the original release. All tracks were produced by Dax and co-written by David Knight.
