''The Cheetah Girls'' is the soundtrack album to the 2003 Walt Disney Pictures movie of the same name. It was released on August 12, 2003 on compact disc and audio cassette by Walt Disney Records. The album was produced by Antonina Armato, Ray Cham, Tim James and executive produced by Debra Martin Chase and Whitney Houston. The album features appearances from Sonic Chaos, Char, and Hope 7. The album was certified Double Platinum in the United States on June 7, 2005 after selling more than 2 million copies in the US alone. Lauren Evans (born February 3, 1983) is an American singer and platinum-selling songwriter. She is an ASCAP Award Winner and has written hit singles for Alexandra Burke, Monrose, Jordin Sparks, and Camila. As a songwriter, Evans has achieved five platinum certifications and two gold certifications in six countries. Wild Orchid was an American girl group consisting of Fergie (singer), Stacy Ferguson, Stefanie Ridel, and Renee Sands, Renee Sandstrom. Beginning under the name "NRG" in 1990, the group changed their name to Wild Orchid in 1992 and signed with RCA Records in 1994. Deborah Gregory is the author of the book series '' The Cheetah Girls''. She was co-producer of the Disney Channel Original Movies '' The Cheetah Girls'' and ''The Cheetah Girls 2'' and an executive producer for '' The Cheetah Girls: One World''.
