The Chapman Family
The Chapman Family were an English indie rock band from Stockton-on-Tees, that formed in 2006. The band's final lineup consisted of Kingsley Chapman (lead vocals, keyboards), Pop Chapman (lead guitar), Owen Chapman (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Kevin James Chapman (bass guitar) and Scott Chapman (drums, backing vocals). The band's debut album ''Burn Your Town'' was released on 7 March 2011. They were notably part of the "10 Tips for 2009" shortlist published by ''NME''. History The band were formed in 2006 and played their first gig on 5 May of that year at KuBar in Stockton-on-Tees. Singer and guitarist Kingsley Chapman claims that they formed because they were "bored of watching bands who sounded f-k all like anything". Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish–Scottish Rock music, rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland. They consist of Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Nathan Connolly (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Wilson (musician), Paul Wilson (bass guitar, backing vocals), Jonny Quinn (drums), and Johnny McDaid (piano, guitar, backing vocals). South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. The Drums
The Drums are an American indie pop band from New York City. Formation Founding members Jonathan (Jonny) Pierce and Jacob Graham became friends as children, having met at Bible camp at age 11 or 12. Some years later, they formed a short-lived electro-pop group initially named Goat Explosion, eventually renamed Elkland. They released one album, ''Golden'', in 2005 and garnered interest with the single "Apart". In 2008, Pierce and Graham came up with the concept for The Drums, and Pierce moved to Kissimmee, Florida, where Graham resided at the time, so that they could more readily collaborate. They then moved to Brooklyn, in the spring of 2009, where drummer Connor Hanwick and former Elkland guitarist Adam Kessler joined the band to complete their live sound. Paul Lester is a British music journalist, author and broadcaster from Elstree, North London. Magistrates were a pop band hailing from South Woodham Ferrers in Essex, England. Members History Paul and Mark played in various bands whilst growing up together, including performing under the name Echelon in 2006 with Andrew Grant. After a change to the current line-up and a change of name in mid-2007, Magistrates signed to XL Recordings in the June 2008. The band released two singles, "Make This Work" (August 2008) and "Heartbreak" (May 2009). Magistrates played the 2009 Samsung ''NME'' Radar Tour alongside La Roux, Heartbreak and the Chapman Family. Magistrates also played the HMV Forum, Kentish Town, London on 15 May 2009, as a support band for Friendly Fires alongside Wax Stag. Heartbreak are a London-based electronic music duo composed of Ali Renault and Sebastian Muravchix. Their music finds its strength through a juxtapose of Renault and Muravchix's respective background in electro and Italo disco. Albums Heartbreak's debut album ''Lies'' was released on the 29 September 2008 on the London label Lex Records. In honor of their inclusion in the ''NME'' Radar Tour, Heartbreak compiled a free mixtape available for download. The mixtape featured the likes of the Horrors, Deux and Lucy Montenegro, and was available to listen to online. The album received mostly positive reviews and was ranked at number 50 on ''NMEs Top 50 Albums of 2008.
