''The Capitol Studios Sessions'' is the debut studio album by Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, released by Decca Records on November 9, 2018. The jazz album was produced by Larry Klein; guest performers include Till Brönner, Imelda May, Haley Reinhart, and Sarah Silverman. Promotion " Cantaloupe Island" and " My Baby Just Cares for Me", released in September 2018, served as promotional singles. The group and Haley Reinhart performed "My Baby Just Cares for Me" on ''Jimmy Kimmel Live!'' and "Straighten Up and Fly Right" with Imelda May on ''The Graham Norton Show'' in October 2018. Tour dates included David Lynch's Festival of Disruption in Los Angeles in October, followed by a few concerts in Europe in November 2018. Jeffrey Lynn Goldblum (; born October 22, 1952) is an American actor and musician. Richard Charles Rodgers (June 28, 1902 – December 30, 1979) was an American Musical composition, composer who worked primarily in musical theater. Dave Dreyer (September 22, 1894 in Brooklyn, New York – March 1, 1967 in New York City) was an American composer and pianist. He started off as a pianist with vaudeville greats such as Al Jolson, Sophie Tucker, Belle Baker, and Frank Fay. In 1923 he worked for the Irving Berlin Music Company. While there, he worked numerous film scores. He later became the head of the music department of RKO Radio. He left the Music Company in 1947. Al Jolson (born Eizer Yoelson; June 9, 1886 – October 23, 1950) was a Lithuanian-American Jews, Jewish singer, comedian, actor, and vaudevillian. Me And My Shadow
"Me and My Shadow" is a 1927 popular song. Officially the credits show it as written by Al Jolson, Billy Rose, and Dave Dreyer, with Jolson and Dreyer being shown on the sheet music as being responsible for the music and Rose the lyrics. Al Jolson was often given credits on sheet music so he could earn more money by popularizing them, but he played no actual part in writing this song. Jolson never recorded the song although he did use it in the touring version of " Big Boy" in 1927. Popular recordings in 1927 were by "Whispering" Jack Smith, Nat Shilkret (vocal by Johnny Marvin) and the separate recording by Johnny Marvin himself for Columba Records. The song became particularly associated with Ted Lewis who used it to close his act. The song has since become a standard, with many artists performing it. Irving Harold Mills (born Isadore Minsky; January 16, 1894 – April 21, 1985) was an American music publisher, musician, lyricist, and jazz artist promoter. He sometimes used the pseudonyms Goody Goodwin and Joe Primrose. Personal Mills was born to a Jewish family in Odessa, Russian Empire, although some biographies state that he was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City.
