The Butterfly Collection
''The Butterfly Collection'' is the second and final full-length album from Californian hardcore punk band, The Nerve Agents. It was released by Hellcat Records and distributed by Epitaph Records in July, 2001. Overview After the straightforward hardcore punk of the '' debut EP'' and the quirky melodies of '' Days Of The White Owl'', this album has more angular riffs and off-the-wall melodies and has slowed down considerably on most tracks. Songs are still sub-two minute affairs and Eric Ozenne's vocals are the same as they have ever been – manic yell/growls. The album had its fans – they liked the musical progression and direction it was going – and it had its detractors â€â€“ mostly still citing lack of originality within the Californian hardcore scene. Fans of the band in general, however, are quick to point out that Eric Ozenne has always been in bands that have played the same sort of music and, in fact, were at the forefront of the scene in the mid-90s with hi ... Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

The Nerve Agents
The Nerve Agents were an American punk rock band formed by Andy Outbreak and Eric Ozenne (ex-Redemption 87). Their angry brand of music juxtaposed yelled, sometimes ranting vocals with distorted and often chorus laden chords, complex bass lines and fast-paced percussion. Their darkened style is reminiscent of Black Flag and The Damned. The Nerve Agents were noted for their frenzied, chaotic, often violent live performances. It was not unusual for a fan or band member to require medical attention. Often on such occasions Eric Ozenne would halt performances, sometimes escorting the injured fan to the hospital. Other theatrical elements, such as costumes and the trademark eyeliner, were commonplace. On rare occasions a guest performer known only as the ' White Owl' (taking its name from the theme of the first full length) would run across the stage in a white mummy-like robe. There are many rumors surrounding the band's demise. Andy Outbreak's involvement in The Distillers ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
