The Bushwackers (film)
''The Bushwhackers'' is a 1952 American Western film directed by Rod Amateau and starring John Ireland, Wayne Morris, Lawrence Tierney, Dorothy Malone, Lon Chaney Jr. And Myrna Dell. Plot Tired of killing, war veteran Jefferson Waring rides west, but in Missouri he sees "squatters" mowed down by men working for rich, ruthless Artemus Taylor. He spends the night at Independence newspaperman Peter Sharpe's place, but is jailed when daughter Cathy Sharpe finds this total stranger in her room. The local marshal, John Harding, is just one of many men on Taylor's payroll. Peter's business is threatened by banker Stone unless he takes Taylor's side against "squatters" settling in the region. The blind and wheelchair-using Taylor and ambitious daughter Norah are secretly aware that railroad surveyors are considering laying tracks nearby, so they want all the land for themselves. Rod Amateau
Rodney Amateau (December 20, 1923 – June 29, 2003) was an American film and television screenwriter, director, and producer. Career Among the programs that he directed were ''The Dennis Day Show'', ''The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show'', ''The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis'', ''Mister Ed'', ''Gilligan's Island'', ''The Bob Cummings Show'' and ''The New Phil Silvers Show''. He produced ''My Mother the Car'' and '' Supertrain'', and wrote the story for the 1988 film ''Sunset''. Amateau also directed a few episodes of ''The Dukes of Hazzard'', and appeared in a handful of episodes as an actor as well. In 1987, he directed, produced and co-wrote ''The Garbage Pail Kids Movie'', which is considered to be one of the worst films ever made. Ward Wood
Ward Wood (August 8, 1924 – November 3, 2001), was an American actor and television writer. Wood was probably best known for his recurring role as police Lt. Art Malcolm in the TV series '' Mannix'' from 1968 to 1975. Wood was born in Grangeville, Idaho (where his grandfather had been the county sheriff from 1891 until 1893). He was introduced to acting at an early age in Lewiston, Idaho by his mother and their family moved to California about 1935. He broke into movie acting in 1943, but very quickly took a hiatus to enlist as a Marine in World War II to avenge the death of his brother Charles, who was also an actor and also a Marine, after Charles was killed in action in the Pacific. After the war, Ward Wood returned to acting in 1947, and was active until the early 1980s. He was married to Peggy Jolene Mosley and Lynn Sherman. George Lynn (actor)
Peter George Lynn (January 28, 1906 – December 3, 1967) was an American actor and writer. Early life Lynn was born January 28, 1906, in Cumberland, Maryland. He graduated from Washington and Lee University and worked as a pilot for Curtiss-Wright before he became an actor. Career Lynn acted in about 30 plays at the Pasadena Playhouse. He appeared in films such as ''Sinner Take All'' (1936), the MGM Academy Award nominated short ''Torture Money'' (1937), ''The Great Dictator'' (1940), and ''To Be or Not to Be'' (1942). Towards the end of his career he appeared in television series such as ''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin'' (1956–8), ''The Untouchables'' (1959) and ''The Deputy'' (1961). Lynn was also a playwright and a contributor of material published in magazines. Death Lynn died December 3, 1967, in Los Angeles, California.
