The Ridgefields
The Ridgefields are a pair of municipalities in Bergen County, New Jersey, both of which have the word ''Ridgefield'' in their name. The two municipalities are the Borough of Ridgefield and the Village of Ridgefield Park. Both municipalities had been part of Ridgefield Township, a township that had existed in southeastern Bergen County, that was created in 1871. Ridgefield Borough and Ridgefield Park Village were each formed from portions of Ridgefield Township in 1892. Several more boroughs were formed from Ridgefield Township before the end of the 19th century. With the formation of Fort Lee in 1904, Ridgefield Township met its demise, and the two municipalities were left to carry on its name. The Plainfields
The Plainfields are a group of three municipalities spanning the convergence of Somerset, Union, and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey, all of which have the word ''Plainfield'' in their name. They are the Borough of North Plainfield (Somerset County), City of Plainfield (Union County), and the Borough of South Plainfield (Middlesex County). The towns of Scotch Plains and Fanwood are nearby. The region was part of the colonial era Elizabethtown Tract and later part of Piscataway settled by Scottish Quakers in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Monroe Township is a township in southern Middlesex County, in New Jersey, United States. It is part of the outer-ring suburbs of the New York metropolitan area.
