The Bond Collection
''The Bond Collection'', a.k.a. ''Bassey Sings Bond'', is a 1987 studio album by Shirley Bassey, notable for having been released without the artist's consent and subsequently withdrawn from sales by court order. History In early 1987, Bassey announced that she was planning to record an album of James Bond themes. The album was due for release 1987 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first James Bond feature film '' Dr. No''. She promoted the album on the television show ''Live At The Palladium'' on May 3, 1987, where she lip-synched "A View to a Kill" and also performed a James Bond medley. Bassey decided not to release the album, for reasons that remain unclear (it is believed that she was not satisfied with the quality of the recording). However, five years later, the album was released, against Bassey's wishes, by the ICON Records label on September 20, 1992, as ''The Bond Collection'', and again by TRING Records on January 10, 1994, as ''Bassey Sings Bond''. Bassey su ...

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (soundtrack)
''On Her Majesty's Secret Service'' ("OHMSS") is the soundtrack for the James Bond film. It was composed, arranged, and conducted by John Barry; his fifth in the series. Opening theme The opening theme for ''On Her Majesty's Secret Service'' proved challenging for composer John Barry. The convention in the previous James Bond films was to accompany the opening credits with a song whose lyrics included the film's title. This film became the first in the series since '' From Russia with Love'' to deviate from this rule (and ''From Russia with Love'' had differed only in featuring the song, sung by Matt Monro, at the end of the film rather than the beginning). Barry felt it would be difficult to compose a theme song containing the title "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" unless it was written operatically, in the style of Gilbert and Sullivan. Leslie Bricusse had considered lyrics for the title song but director Peter R. Hunt allowed an instrumental opening title theme in the ...

We Have All The Time In The World
"We Have All the Time in the World" is a James Bond theme song sung by Louis Armstrong. Its music was composed by John Barry and the lyrics by Hal David. It is a secondary musical theme in the 1969 Bond film '' On Her Majesty's Secret Service'', the title theme being the instrumental "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", also composed by Barry. The song title is taken from Bond's final words in both the novel and the film, spoken after the death of Tracy Bond, his wife. As Armstrong was too ill to play his trumpet, it was therefore played by another musician. Barry chose Armstrong because he felt he could "deliver the title line with irony". The song was released as a single in both the US and the UK (under the abridged title "All The Time in the World" in the UK) to coincide with the release of the film in December 1969, but did not chart in either market. The recording became a hit in the UK twenty-five years later, in 1994, as a result of a Guinness beer commercial, after My Bl ...
