''The Bobby Limb Show'' was an early Australian television music/variety series which aired from 1959 to 1961, and was later re-titled (with minor format changes) as ''The Mobil-Limb Show'' from 1961 to 1964. It was hosted by Bobby Limb, and was produced by the Nine Network 's TCN-9. Episodes included music, dancing, and comedy sketches. Regulars in ''The Bobby Limb Show'' included Limb's wife Dawn Lake, Buster Fiddess, Johnny O'Connor, The Delltones, Tikky Taylor, and The Bobby Limb Show Band. The Nine Network (stylised 9Network, commonly known as Channel Nine or simply Nine) is an Australian commercial free-to-air television network. Robert "Bobby" Limb AO, OBE (10 November 1924 – 11 September 1999) was an Australian-born entertainment pioneer, comedian, band leader and musician and legend of radio, television and theatre of the 1960s and 1970s, he also founded the film and TV production company NLT Productions, with Jack Neary and Les Tinker. One of its main products was adventure serial '' The Rovers'', which was aimed at breaking the international market. Early days Bobby Limb was born in Adelaide, South Australia and entered a show business career beginning in 1941, at the age of 17, when he became a saxophone player with various dance bands around his home city of Adelaide. His bright personality soon made him a bandleader and comedian. Dawn Alice Lake (20 January 1927 – 1 January 2006) was an Australian television comedian, singer, entertainer, and actor whose career spanned more than 50 years. The Delltones
The Delltones were an Australian rock 'n' roll band, which formed in 1958. They started as a doo-wop, harmony quartet with Warren Lucas (tenor vocals), Brian Perkins (baritone vocals), Noel Widerberg (lead vocals) and Ian "Peewee" Wilson (bass vocals). In July 1962 Noel Widerberg died in a car accident in Brighton-le-Sands in Sydney, and three weeks later the group's single, "Get a Little Dirt on Your Hands", reached the top five on the local charts. Widerberg's position was filled by Col Loughnan (ex-the Crescents). The group disbanded in 1973. Wilson, as the sole founding mainstay, reformed the group with new members in 1978 as a five-piece band. Along with stylistic changes, it led to their resurgence and a top 20 compilation album, ''Bop Til Ya Drop'' (1983). Leonard Teale
Leonard George Thiele AO (26 September 192214 May 1994), professionally Leonard Teale, was a well-known Australian actor of radio, television and film and radio announcer, presenter and narrator known for his resonant baritone voice. He is best remembered for his role in the long-running Australian police prodedural drama ''Homicide'' as David "Mac" MacKay. As a professional actor he adopted Teale – a homophone of his birth surname, Thiele – as a stage name.
