The Black Crowes
The Black Crowes are an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1984. Their discography includes eight studio albums, four live albums and several charting singles. The band was signed to Def American Recordings in 1989 by producer George Drakoulias and released their debut album, '' Shake Your Money Maker'', the following year. Their follow-up, '' The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion'', reached the top of the ''Billboard'' 200 in 1992. Sven Pipien
Sven Pipien (born 30 May 1967, in Hanover, Germany) is a musician best known as the bassist of the southern rock band The Black Crowes. Biography Sven Pipien began his musical career playing bass with Atlanta-based rock outfit Mary, My Hope. The band recorded one full-length LP in 1989 (''Museum'') and one EP in 1990 (''Suicide Kings'') and garnered enough college radio popularity to earn them opening slots on headlining tours for Love and Rockets and Jane's Addiction. ''Croweology'' is an acoustic-based album by American rock band The Black Crowes, released on August 3, 2010. The set includes newly recorded versions of nineteen songs from the band's career, covering their albums from '' Shake Your Money Maker'' to ''Lions'', plus a cover of the Chris Ethridge and Gram Parsons song "She", in mostly-acoustic arrangements. ''Warpaint'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes. Released on March 3, 2008, it was the band's seventh studio album and first studio album in almost seven years, and its first with new members Luther Dickinson and Adam MacDougall, as well as the first to be released on the band's own Silver Arrow Records label. It was released in 2001 as their first album on V2 Records following their departure from Columbia, and is their only studio album to feature guitarist Audley Freed. ''Amorica'' (stylized as ''amorica.'') is the third studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes. Spawned from the band's unreleased, incompleted, scrapped ''Tall'' album, ''Amorica'' was released November 1, 1994, on American Recordings and reissued in the UK in 1998 with two bonus tracks. ''Amorica'' reached gold status in the United States, shipping 500,000 copies. American Recordings (formerly Def American Recordings) is an American record label headed by producer Rick Rubin. The label has featured artists such as Slayer, the Black Crowes, ZZ Top, Danzig, Trouble, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, The Mother Hips, and System of a Down.
