The Black Bull of Norroway is a fairy tale from Scotland. A similar story titled The Red Bull of Norroway first appeared in print in ''Popular Rhymes of Scotland'' by Robert Chambers in 1842. A version titled The Black Bull of Norroway in the 1870 edition of ''Popular Rhymes of Scotland'' was reprinted in an Anglicised version by Joseph Jacobs in his 1894 book ''More English Fairy Tales''. It was included within ''The Blue Fairy Book'' by Andrew Lang, ''English Fairy Tales'' by Flora Annie Steel, '' Scottish Folk Tales'' by Ruth Manning-Sanders, and ''A Book Of British Fairytales'' by Alan Garner. 11th Armoured Division (United Kingdom)
The 11th Armoured Division was an armoured division of the British Army which was created in March 1941 during the Second World War. The division was formed in response to the unanticipated success of the German panzer divisions. The 11th Armoured was responsible for several major victories in the Battle of Normandy from in the summer of 1944, shortly after the Normandy landings, and it participated in the Allied advance from Paris to the Rhine, the Rhine crossing in March 1945. It was disbanded in January 1946 and reformed towards the end of 1950. In 1956, it was converted into the 4th Infantry Division. Queen's Beasts
The Queen's Beasts are ten heraldic statues representing the genealogy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted as the Royal supporters of England. They stood in front of the temporary western annexe to Westminster Abbey for the Queen's coronation in 1953. Each of The Queen's Beasts consists of a heraldic beast supporting a shield bearing a badge or arms of a family associated with the ancestry of Queen Elizabeth II. They were commissioned by the British Ministry of Works from the sculptor James Woodford, who was paid the sum of £2,750 for the work. They were uncoloured except for their shields at the coronation. They are now on display in the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec. Blackbull is a rural locality in the Shire of Croydon, Queensland, Australia. In the Blackbull had a population of 3 people. Geography The Gulf Developmental Road passes through the locality from the south-east to the south-west. The Normanton to Croydon railway line runs immediately parallel to it with the locality being served by the Blackbull railway siding. Black Bull railway station is a disused railway station in Staffordshire, England. The station was opened in 1864 by the North Staffordshire Railway on the company's Biddulph Valley Line. The line had opened in 1860 and was primarily concerned with mineral traffic, mostly coal and ironstone from the collieries and ironworks along the Biddulph Valley. Passenger services were of a much lesser interest to the NSR so it was not until a few years later that a number of stations were opened supported by an infrequent number of passenger trains.
