The Big Chase
''The Big Chase'' is a 1954 American crime drama film directed by Arthur Hilton and starring Glenn Langan, Adele Jergens, Lon Chaney Jr., Jim Davis and Douglas Kennedy. One of the film's scenes was directed by producer Robert L. Lippert Jr. This is the second film in which Langan appeared with Jergens, his real-life wife. Premise A policeman with a pregnant wife on his side uses a helicopter to chase a payroll thief trying to escape to Mexico. Arthur Hilton
Arthur Hilton (April 5, 1897 – October 15, 1979) was a British-born film editor and director. Biography Hilton was born in London and edited his first film in 1928. Shortly after, he immigrated to the US, where he worked on such films as the W. C. Fields classic comedies ''The Bank Dick'' (1940) and ''Never Give a Sucker an Even Break'' (1941), and Julien Duvivier’s portmanteau film '' Flesh and Fantasy'' (1943). Hilton was nominated for an Academy Award in 1946 for Best Film Editing for Robert Siodmak’s film noir ''The Killers''. James Wheaton Chambers (October 13, 1887 – January 31, 1958) was an American actor during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He appeared in more than 200 films and television series during his career. Early years Chambers was born on October 13, 1887, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a Philadelphia Main Line family. He graduated from Princeton University in 1909. with a bachelor of arts degree. Gilbert Vincent Perkins (24 August 1907 – 28 March 1999) was an Australian film and television actor. Early life As a teenager, Perkins was a trackman and an athlete.
