The Big Bang – The Essential Collection
''The Big Bang: The Essential Collection'' is a compilation album by the Norwegian hard rock band TNT, released in 2003. The compilation mainly focuses on the studio albums the band released in the 1980s, from ''TNT'' (1982) to ''Intuition'' (1989). Guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø had suggested for the inclusion of several tracks from the 1992 album '' Realized Fantasies'', however only the single "Downhill Racer" was included. No material was included from the band's most recent albums at the time, ''Firefly'' (1997) and ''Transistor'' (1999). The compilation also includes two newly recorded tracks, "Hey Love" and "Satellite", and an outtake from the ''Tell No Tales'' sessions, "Destiny". The compilation went gold in Norway. TNT (Norwegian Band)
TNT is a Norwegian heavy metal band from Trondheim, formed in 1982. The band has released fourteen studio albums, three EPs and four live albums while going through numerous line-up changes since its formation. Guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø is the only consistent member of TNT. TNT has sold between 4-5 million albums worldwide as of 2016. History 1980s and 1990s TNT was formed in the Norwegian city of Trondheim in 1982, by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dag Ingebrigtsen, guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø, bassist Steinar Eikum and drummer Diesel Dahl. Securing a national record contract with PolyGram subsidiary Vertigo Norway, they released their self-titled debut album the same year — their only album that features Norwegian lyrics — and got a hit with the single "Harley-Davidson". ''Tell No Tales'' is the third studio album by the Norwegian hard rock band TNT. It was the best-selling TNT album in the U.S., according to their bass guitarist Morty Black. This album diverted from the power metal style of ''Knights of the New Thunder'' into a more glam metal direction. Joe Lynn Turner
Joe Lynn Turner (born Joseph Arthur Mark Linquito, August 2, 1951) is an American singer known for his work in the hard rock bands Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Deep Purple. During his career, Turner fronted and played guitar with pop rock band Fandango in the late 1970s; and in the early 1980s, he became a member of Rainbow, fronting the band and writing songs with guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore and bassist, and producer, Roger Glover. After Rainbow had disbanded in March 1984, he pursued a solo career, released one album, Rescue You, and sang backing vocals for Billy Joel, Cher, and Michael Bolton along with radio and television jingles. John Macaluso
John Macaluso (born January 21, 1968) is an American drummer who has played for bands such as Ark, TNT, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Born in Commack, New York, Macaluso started playing drums at age 11. He has recorded over 200 records and played multiple world tours. He also runs clinics and teaches others. Morten Skogstad (born 26 June 1962) is the drummer in the Norwegian hard rock/glam metal band Stage Dolls. He joined the band in 1993, replacing Steinar Krokstad. Diesel Dahl
Morten "Diesel" Dahl (born 19 June 1959 in Trondheim, Norway) is the drummer and co-founder of the Norwegian hard rock band TNT. He started playing the drums at the age of 15, and played in bands like Burn, Edge and Hotlips before he formed TNT together with vocalist Dag Ingebrigtsen in 1982. Dahl played on the first three TNT albums and co-wrote their biggest hit, " 10,000 Lovers (In One)", before he parted ways with the band in the fall of 1987. The following year he formed the band TinDrum, who got a national number 1 hit with "Drums of War". In the early 1990s Dahl joined the local Hells Angels motorcycle club in Trondheim and became their spokesperson. Throughout the 1990s he played in various bands, such as Diesel Dahl & Friends and Diezel, before he officially reunited with TNT in 2000. He left Hells Angels in 2005. 10,000 Lovers (In One)
''"10,000 Lovers (In One)"'' is a hit single by the Norwegian band TNT, taken from their 1987 album, ''Tell No Tales''. It was written about a girl who TNT's vocalist at that time, Tony Harnell, knew. The single reached the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in America, peaking at number 100 and earned the band a Norwegian Grammy. In 2006 TNT recorded a new version of the song together with the Norwegian rapper Vinni from the band Paperboys. This version included newly written and controversial rap lyrics, which fueled Harnell to make a statement. Vinni joined TNT for a couple of performances of the new version in concerts and on national TV shows. ''Knights of the New Thunder'' is the second studio album by the Norwegian heavy metal band TNT. It was the first TNT album recorded with their new vocalist Tony Harnell, who had replaced their original singer Dag Ingebrigtsen. Most of the songs on the album had been written and recorded as demos while Ingebrigtsen was still in the band, but most of the lyrics were rewritten by Harnell. Some of the song titles were also changed; "Toys for Boys" and "Black Sheep of Valhalla" became "Break the Ice" and "Knights of the Thunder", respectively. Two songs from TNT's self-titled first album, "USA" and "Eddie", were re-recorded and included on the album, though "Eddie" was an exclusive bonus track on the CD edition in Europe, and replaced "Tor with the Hammer" on U.S. editions. Dag Ingebrigtsen (born 12 December 1958) is a Norwegian musician who had his debut in 1977 with the group Subway Suck. Ingebrigtsen was born in Trondheim, Norway. He got his breakthrough in 1980 with the rock band The Kids, who had the hit "Forelska i lærer'n" ("In love with the teacher"). After his success with The Kids, he fronted the Norwegian hard rock band TNT.
