''The Best of Nickelback Volume 1'' is a compilation album by Canadian rock band Nickelback. It was released on November 4, 2013, through Roadrunner Records (internationally) and Universal Music Canada (in Canada) to coincide with their October–November 2013 "The Hits Tour". Though frontman Chad Kroeger had previously stated in an interview that their upcoming greatest hits album would include new songs as well as previous hits, the final track listing contains only previously released material. The compilation features singles released from all but the first two studio albums (1996's ''Curb'' and 1998's ''The State'') from the band; ''Silver Side Up'' (2001), ''The Long Road'' (2003), ''All the Right Reasons'' (2005), ''Dark Horse'' (2008), and '' Here and Now'' (2011). Nickelback is a Canadian Rock music, rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. It is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair. It went through several drummer changes between 1995 and 2005, achieving its current lineup when Adair replaced Ryan Vikedal. Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands, having sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Curb (album)
''Curb'' is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback. Recorded at Turtle Recording Studios in Richmond, British Columbia with producer Larry Anschell, it was originally released exclusively in Canada by FACTOR (the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) in 1996. The album was reissued locally later in the year by Shoreline Records. After Nickelback signed with Roadrunner Records in 1999, ''Curb'' was remastered and released internationally on June 25, 2002. This remaster reduced the dynamic range of the album and introduced severe clipping throughout. After releasing their debut EP '' Hesher'' earlier in the year, Nickelback recorded their debut full-length album in 1996. "If Today Was Your Last Day" is the third single from Nickelback's sixth studio album ''Dark Horse''. It was originally planned as the first single, to hit all U.S. radio formats September 30, 2008, but was scrapped as the first single in favour of "Gotta Be Somebody". Instead it was released on March 31, 2009. It was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who produced the entire album. The song was released as a digital download in the U.S. on November 11. "If Today Was Your Last Day" was released in the UK on June 15. The song was performed live for the first time on May 22 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
