The Best FIFA Football Coach
The Best FIFA Football Coach is an association football award given annually to the men's and women's association football, football manager (association football), coaches who are considered to have performed the best in the previous 12 months. History The selection criteria for the coaches of the year were: performance and general behaviour of their teams on and off the pitch. The votes were decided by media representatives, national team coaches, and national team captains. In October 2016, it was announced that the general public would also be allowed to vote. Each group will have 25% of the overall vote. Thomas Tuchel (; born 29 August 1973) is a German professional football manager and former player who last managed Premier League club Chelsea. Born in Krumbach, Tuchel retired at age 25 after a chronic knee cartilage injury; in 2000, he began his coaching career as a youth coach at VfB Stuttgart, and in 2009, after a one-year period at FC Augsburg II, he was hired by Mainz 05. He departed Mainz in 2014 and was appointed at fellow Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in 2015, where he won the DFB-Pokal before being dismissed in 2017.
