The Bandwagon Club
The Bandwagon was a club night held on the first Saturday of every month at the Zanzibar club on Seel Street, Liverpool from 2001 to 2005. The Bandwagon night was run by John Robinson and Gary Murphy, members of the now defunct Liverpool band the Bandits. The Bandwagon was seen as a focal part of the local music scene, dubbed the "cosmic Scouse scene" by the ''NME'', which emerged in Liverpool in the early 2000s. The Coral, the Zutons, the Stands, Tramp Attack and the Hokum Clones were all Bandwagon regulars, who forged their reputations at the night. The Bandwagon also played host to the Libertines and Noel Gallagher. The Bandwagon drew attention from the media, particularly the ''NME'', and was the subject of a feature on Channel Four's 4music who filmed in the venue on a night when members of the Stands, the Bandits and the Hokum Clones joined on stage to play a cover of Bob Dylan's "Maggie's Farm". The Bandits
The Bandits a Liverpool band They are most notable for the singles "Take it and Run" and "2 Step Rock", which both reached the Top 40 on the UK Singles Chart. History The band's first appeared on the Honey Records' 2001 "Beatin Planks" compilation album, which featured early versions of two songs: "Take It An Run" and "Free Me Rain". The line up at the time consisted of John, Gary, Scott and Tony, with Neil Crosbie on drums. Scott Dulson and Tony Dunne had previously been in Tramp Attack with future Zutons frontman Dave McCabe. The band then brought in Swee on drums, and throughout 2002 auditioned for a lead guitarist and recruited Ritchie, who lived in Wallasey at the time. The Coral
The Coral are an English rock band, formed in 1996 in Hoylake on the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside. The band emerged during the early 2000s. Their 2002 debut album ''The Coral'', from which came the single " Dreaming of You", was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and listed as the fourth best album of the year by ''NME''. Their second album, ''Magic and Medicine'' (2003), produced four UK Top 20 singles, including " Pass It On". In 2008, after guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones left the band, they continued as a five-piece. The Zutons
The Zutons are an English indie rock band, formed in 2001 in Liverpool. The band are currently composed of singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave McCabe, drummer Sean Payne and saxophonist Abi Harding. They released their debut album, '' Who Killed...... The Zutons?'' in May 2004 and achieved chart success with " Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?" and "Valerie", both taken from their second studio album ''Tired of Hanging Around'' in 2006. Both singles reached number 9 in the UK Singles Chart. The band quietly disbanded in 2009, several months after they released the third studio album, '' You Can Do Anything'' in June 2008, with no official announcement. The Stands
The Stands were an English alternative rock band, formed in 2002 in Liverpool. The band was composed of singer-songwriter Howie Payne, guitarist Luke Thomson, bassist Dean Ravera and drummer Steve Pilgrim. They released two albums, before Pilgrim and Thomson left the band following the release of their second album. The band toured the album with drummer Graeme Robinson and guitarist Paul Molloy. They split up in November 2005, shortly after parting ways with their label Echo Records. History The Stands were formed by Howie Payne in 2002 following the split of the Edgar Jones fronted The Big Kids, for whom Payne had played lead guitar. Tramp Attack
Tramp Attack are an English rock band from Liverpool. History Tramp Attack formed in Liverpool in 2001 by Dave McCabe, Hollyoaks and Brookside actor Kristian Ealey, Matt Barton, drummer Ian Lane, bassist Scott Dulson and guitar player Tony Dunne who left early on to form The Bandits. Dulson was replaced by James Redmond and Dunne was replaced by Dave McCabe. After quickly gaining an enthusiastic and loyal fanbase, the band secured residencies in the pubs and clubs of Liverpool and went on to win a Battle Of The Bands at The Royal Court. The Libertines are an English rock band, formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât (vocals/guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/guitar). Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter. Maggie's Farm
"Maggie's Farm" is a song written by Bob Dylan, recorded on January 15, 1965, and released on the album ''Bringing It All Back Home'' on March 22 of that year. Like many other Dylan songs of the 1965–66 period, "Maggie's Farm" is based on electric blues. It was released as a single in the United Kingdom on June 4, 1965, and peaked at #22 on the chart. Dylan only needed one take to record the song, as may be heard on the exhaustive 18-disc Collector's Edition of '' The Bootleg Series Vol. 12: The Cutting Edge 1965–1966'', which includes every alternate take recorded during Dylan's 1965–1966 sessions but only the one version of "Maggie's Farm".
