Russell Mack
Russell Mack (November 11, 1892 – June 1, 1972) was an American vaudeville performer in the 1910s and a stage actor, film director, and producer in the 1920s and 1930s. Vaudeville and stage career Born Edward Russell Mahoney in Oneonta, New York, Mack was raised in Providence, Rhode Island, where he worked first as a reporter and then as a theatre manager. In 1911 he formed a vaudeville duo with pianist Blanche Vincent, and they toured as “Mack and Vincent” with some success on the Orpheum circuit, in addition to managing cabarets in New York City. Vincent was often identified as Mack's wife, but there is no confirmation that they actually married. The duo disbanded in 1919 and Mack embarked on a stage career, with brief returns to vaudeville in 1921–22. William Tannen (actor)
William Tannen (November 17, 1911 – December 2, 1976) was an American actor originally from New York City, who was best known for his role of Deputy Hal Norton in fifty-six episodes from 1956 to 1958 of the ABC/Desilu western television series, ''The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.'' During the 1930s and 1940s, he was a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer contract player. Personal life Tannen was the son of actor Julius Tannen. He became active in drama — both acting and writing — while a student at Lawrenceville School. Stage Tannen made his stage debut in a production of ''The Honor of the Family'' with the National Theatre troupe in Washington, D.C. Henry Kolker
Joseph Henry Kolker (November 13, 1874 ome sources 1870– July 15, 1947) was an American stage and film actor and director. Early years Kolker was born in Quincy, Illinois. Career Kolker, like fellow actors Richard Bennett and Robert Warwick, had a substantial stage career before entering silent films. He began acting professionally in stock theater in 1895. On stage he appeared opposite actresses such as Edith Wynne Matthison, Bertha Kalich and Ruth Chatterton. Kolker began acting in films in 1915. He is best remembered for his movie roles, including one in the ground-breaking Pre-Code film ''Baby Face'' (1933) as an elderly CEO. Another well-remembered part is as Mr. Seton, father of Katharine Hepburn and Lew Ayres in the 1938 film ''Holiday'' directed by George Cukor. Joe Sawyer (born Joseph Sauers, August 29, 1906 – April 21, 1982) was a Canadian film actor. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1927 and 1962, and was sometimes billed under his birth name. Early life Sawyer was born August 29, 1906 as ''Joseph Sauers'' in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His parents were German. In his 20s he went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in films. Career Sawyer gained acting experience in the Pasadena Playhouse. Productions in which he performed there included '' Quinneys'', ''The Wolves'', and ''White Wings''. Sidney L. Miller (born Sid Miller; October 22, 1916 – January 10, 2004) was an American actor, director and songwriter. Biography Sidney Miller was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. His first acting role was in the movie '' Penrod and Sam'' (1931), although uncredited. In 1937, he made his radio debut on the ''Jack Benny Program'' episode "Christmas Shopping", as a man whom Benny mistakes for a department store floorwalker. The actor was also a regular performer on ''Cavalcade of America'', '' Suspense'' and '' Nightbeat''. David Durand (July 27, 1920 – July 25, 1998) was an American juvenile actor. Career Durand appeared in the silent film Tropic Madness (1928) when age 8, of which a complete version is considered lost.
