The Back Of Love
"The Back of Love" is a single which was released by Echo & the Bunnymen on 21 May 1982. It reached number nineteen on the UK Singles Chart the same month. It was subsequently added to the album ''Porcupine'' which was released on 4 February 1983. The single was produced by Ian Broudie under the pseudonym Kingbird. The a-side of the single was recorded at Trident Studios in London, while the b-side was recorded at Square One Studios in Liverpool. The b-side to both the 7" and 12" versions of the single is "The Subject". The 12" has an extra track on the b-side, "Fuel". The cover of both the 7" and 12" versions is painting by Henry Scott Tuke called "The Promise" which was on display at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The song was covered by the American rock group Burning Airlines on the 1998 "Always Something There to Remind Me / Back of Love" single, a split release with Braid who performed "Always Something There to Remind Me". The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) is a non-profit association set up in 1999 to promote certain interests of the music industry in Ireland. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the previous Thursday (i.e., the day before issue). Braid (band)
Braid is an American emo band from Champaign, Illinois, formed in 1993. Following several early line-up changes, the band eventually settled on Bob Nanna on guitar and vocals, Todd Bell on bass, Chris Broach on guitar and vocals, and Roy Ewing on drums until he was replaced in 1997 by new drummer Damon Atkinson. In 1998 the group released their third album, ''Frame & Canvas'', to critical acclaim and is considered a staple of the late 1990s emo movement. Despite ''Frame & Canvass success, Braid disbanded in 1999. Nanna, Bell, and Atkinson formed the more melodic Hey Mercedes, while Broach would dedicate more time to The Firebird Band which was previously a side project. Burning Airlines
Burning Airlines was an American rock band from Washington, D.C. J. Robbins and Bill Barbot of Jawbox formed the band with Peter Moffett (formerly of Government Issue) in 1997. The band released two full-length albums, a self-titled 7", and split releases with At the Drive-In and Braid. The band's name is taken from a Brian Eno song, "Burning Airlines Give You So Much More" from his 1974 album ''Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)''. History Robbins and Barbot had jammed with Moffett while their band Jawbox was still active, briefly considering him to fill in after drummer Zach Barocas' departure. However, this lineup was not to be, and Jawbox called it quits shortly thereafter. In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. The Walker Art Gallery is an art gallery in Liverpool, which houses one of the largest art collections in England outside London. It is part of the National Museums Liverpool group.
