The Awakening Story
The Awakening Story (Chinese: 婚前昏後) is a 2000 TVB drama series. The story is centered on Shuet (Liza Wang), who wakes up from a 16-year coma after a car accident, and how she deals with all the changes that has happened since. Main Plot After Shuet wakes up from her coma, it is slowly revealed that 16 years earlier, Shuet was trying to leave her husband and family because of stress and loneliness. The catalyst was ultimately caused by her eldest daughter, Hing Ga ( Maggie Yee), who threw a tantrum about getting a cake. As Shuet was about to leave, she realized then that she could not live without her family and decided to return. After purchasing the cake for Hing Ga, she was hit by a car which had led to the 16-year coma. Meanwhile, the relationship between Shuet and her husband, Philip (Damian Lau), had always been on the verge of falling apart, one of the reasons being their differing opinions. Damian Lau
Damian Lau Chung-yan (born 14 October 1949) is a Hong Kong film and television actor, executive producer and film director. Lau has starred in many television drama series of various genres, produced by Hong Kong's TVB and ATV. Biography Early career Lau enrolled into the actors' training class of RTV (now ATV) in 1971, where he started his early acting career. In 1976, he joined TVB on a contract and began to gain recognition for acting in television drama series produced by the TV station. In 1976, Lau rose to fame for his portrayal of the titular character in '' Luk Siu-fung'', an adaptation of ''Wuxia'' writer Gu Long's novel series of the same title. Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is a television broadcasting company based in Hong Kong SAR. The Company operates five free-to-air terrestrial television channels in Hong Kong, with TVB Jade as its main Cantonese language service, and TVB Pearl as its main English service. TVB is headquartered at TVB City at the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. TVB commenced broadcasting on November 19, 1967. The Company was incorporated on July 26, 1965 and was co-founded by Sir Run Run Shaw, who was Chairman from 1980 to 2011, together with Sir Douglas Clague and Harold Lee Hsiao-wo of the Lee Hysan family.
