Claude Fournier (filmmaker)
Claude Fournier (July 23, 1931 – March 16, 2023) was a Canadian film director, screenwriter, editor and cinematographer. He is one of the forerunners of the Cinema of Quebec. He was the twin brother of Guy Fournier. Career Claude Fournier began his career in journalism then moved to the Radio-Canada as a news cameraman. He joined the National Film Board of Canada in 1957 as a writer and director, and he worked on early cinéma-vérité films such as '' À Saint-Henri le cinq septembre'' and '' La lutte''. He left the Board to work in the United States with famed documentary filmmakers Richard Leacock and D.A. Pennebaker, then returned to Montreal in 1963 to set up his own production company, Rose Films. Donald Lautrec
Donald Lautrec (born Donald Bourgeois, July 13, 1940, in Jonquière, Quebec) is a Canadian (Quebec) singer and actor. Career With a friend in 1957, Lautrec created the acrobatic duo, ''Don and Lee'', which performed on trampolines throughout Canada and the United States. He then mixed in the entertainment world by working as a lighting technician, a master of ceremonies in several Montreal cabarets and, for a short time, as a bodyguard to Québécois singer Michel Louvain. He then met impresario Yvan Dufresne, who had discovered Louvain, and asked him to help launch his own singing career. Dufresne accepted and, in 1961, booked Lautrec in the Hotel Central Saint-Martin in Laval, Quebec. Janine Sutto, (20 April 1921 – 28 March 2017) was a French-born Canadian actress and comedian. Career Born in Paris to Léopold Sutto and Renée Mamert, she emigrated to Canada in 1930, with her family settling in Montreal. At age 14, Sutto began acting in radio dramas, and later performed stage roles. Jean Lapointe, (December 6, 1935 – November 18, 2022) was a Canadian actor, comedian and singer, as well as a Canadian Senator.
