The Antlers is a Wyndham Hotel located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It opened in 1967 and is the third hotel of that name on the same site. The first Antlers Hotel was built in 1883 and burned down in 1898. The second Antlers Hotel, completed in 1901, was torn down in 1964 to make way for the current Antlers. Geography The hotel site is located in the center of downtown Colorado Springs, on Cascade Avenue, just off of Colorado Avenue. It is near Interstate 25. The hotel is near the former Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad depot building and Antlers Park and adjacent to the Antlers Garage. Description The downtown hotel has 272 rooms, including 14 executive suites, 5 junior suite, city facing governors suite and mountain facing founders suite. The Antlers Hotel is located in downtown Spirit Lake, Iowa, United States. From the 1880s to the early 1920s an alliance of railroad companies, entrepreneurs, and sportsmen made Spirit Lake and the Iowa Great Lakes region into an upscale tourist destination based on boating, hunting and gun tournaments. Completed in 1902, this hotel was built at the height of that development. with A significant addition to the hotel was completed in 1930. Starting in the 1920s tourism started to change with the increasing popularity of the automobile and the decline of the railroads. The Antlers Hotel on Raquette Lake in the town of Raquette Lake, New York is an historic hotel that was built in the late 1880s. It is presently operated as an outdoor and environmental education center by SUNY Cortland; it is mainly active during the summer months, and has a dining hall as well as housing accommodations for 45 people. Originally called Constable Point, it was built and renamed by Charles Bennett and operated as a hotel that accommodated 200 guests from 1887 until his death in 1915. His sister, Margaret Bennett, sold the hotel to the Cedar Island Corporation in 1920, and they used the property as a summer school for 150 students; accommodations for the students' families were also provided. At points in its history, it also had an active post office, a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, and a casino. It was later used as a summer camp. Antlers Hotel is a historic hotel building in Lorain, Ohio, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places November 30, 1982. Building The building sits on the southwest corner of Washington Avenue and West Erie Avenue overlooking a small city park. The four story rectangular building is by and has a basement. It was built in 1922 of tan brick having ornamental stone and terra cotta features in the Renaissance Revival style. A front porch is partially enclosed by bays projecting from each end of the facade. The porch features balusters and classic detailing which is also present around the windows. The 80 room hotel includes a large auditorium, lobby, restaurant space, kitchen, bar and laundry facilities. In 1982 the building had been vacant for some years and the interior had suffered significant damage, yet the exterior and structure remained intact and in good condition. Antlers Hotel (Kingsland, Texas)
The Antlers Hotel is a hotel and resort built in 1901 by the Austin and Northwestern Railroad on the Colorado River in Kingsland in Llano County in Central Texas. After a brief heyday, The Antlers closed in 1923 and fell into disrepair. It was eventually resurrected by a couple from Austin and reopened in 1996. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 as part of the Austin and Northwestern Railroad Historic District-Fairland to Llano historic district. The Victorian structure is the centerpiece of what has become an historic railway district. Other railroad buildings have been added, among them a depot and three brightly painted cabooses setting on actual rails which have also been modified to serve as guest accommodations. The transformation continues whenever additional authentic old railroad structures are occasionally found, renovated and added to the resort.
