The Anthropocene Extinction
''The Anthropocene Extinction'' is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Cattle Decapitation. It was released on August 7, 2015, on Metal Blade Records. It became Cattle Decapitation's first album to chart on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, debuting at No. 100 (No. 44 on "Top Albums"). Lyrical concept The previous record, ''Monolith of Inhumanity'', dealt with the future of Earth, if mankind keeps its current style of life. ''The Anthropocene Extinction'' deals with the results of mankind's influence on the environment, such as the Great Pacific garbage patch. Critical reception The album received widespread acclaim from music critics. At Metacritic (a review aggregator site which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 from music critics), based on four critics, the album has received a score of 86/100, which indicates "universal acclaim". Cattle Decapitation
Cattle Decapitation is an American deathgrind band from San Diego, California, formed in 1996. The band's current lineup includes vocalist Travis Ryan, guitarists Josh Elmore and Belisario Dimuzio, bassist Olivier Pinard, and drummer David McGraw. Cattle Decapitation have released seven albums, the most recent being ''Death Atlas'', which was released on November 29, 2019. History Founded in 1996, the band started with an entirely vegan lineup. Only two current members are vegetarian, namely Travis Ryan and Josh Elmore. Wes Benscoter is an American artist who is best known for his work album covers, especially heavy metal albums. He also has made covers for magazines and books, and shirt designs, and his art is featured in many galleries around the world. Most of his work prior to 2006 is done using airbrush. Bethlehem (band)
Bethlehem is a German extreme metal band from Grevenbroich, formed in 1991 by Jürgen Bartsch and Klaus Matton. Before starting Bethlehem, Bartsch and Matton used to play in a German thrash metal band Morbid Vision. Many of their lyrics revolve around sickness, morbidity, suicide, death and madness, and may to some extent be personal to the band. History Bethlehem was formed by Jürgen Bartsch in 1991. They recorded a few demos in the early 90s before releasing their debut album ''Dark Metal'' in 1994, which featured Andreas Classen on vocals. On their second full-length album ''Dictius Te Necare'' (Latin: You must/should kill yourself), Classen was replaced with Rainer Landfermann on vocals (known as the bass player in the German death metal band Pavor).
