The American Adventure Theme Park
The American Adventure was a theme park in Derbyshire, England, quite close to both Nottingham and Derby on the edge of Ilkeston. The park for many years had a number of large white-knuckle attractions, but in 2005 was re-themed as a 'family' park aimed at the under-14 market. In January 2007, the owners announced that it would not reopen for the new season, and the rides would be sold off. History The American Adventure, built on an area of Country Park which had been subject to deep seam mining, deep seam and open-pit mining, opencast coal mining, was originally opened in June 1987 with an Old West and Cowboys vs. Native Americans in the United States, Native Americans theme. A theme park called Britannia Park had been opened on the site in 1985 but closed after just 10 weeks, insolvent, and its founder Peter Kellard was later imprisoned for fraud. The American Adventure (Epcot)
The American Adventure is the host pavilion of the World Showcase within Epcot at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, United States. It is also the name of the Colonial American-themed pavilion's main attraction, an Audio-Animatronics stage show of American history. It is located between the Italy Pavilion at Epcot, Italy and Japan Pavilion at Epcot, Japan pavilions. The pavilion includes a quick service food location named Regal Eagle Smokehouse, a The Muppets, Muppet-themed location focused on barbecue. Additionally, there is a merchandise location known as Heritage Manor which, as of February 2020, is currently closed for renovation. It will be merged with the former Art of Disney store that was located in Future World as a part of Epcot's transformation. In 2021, Epcot announced that a new exhibit called "THE SOUL OF JAZZ: An American Adventure" will open inside of the attraction.
