UK Play
Play UK was a television channel broadcasting in the United Kingdom as part of the UKTV network of channels. Play UK broadcast all day on the digital platforms, but on the Sky Analogue platform on the Astra 19.2°E satellite system it broadcast between 1am and 7am when UK Horizons was not broadcasting. History The channel had originally been planned as a television version of BBC Radio 1 but launched without the Radio 1 tie-up as UK Play on 10 October 1998, changing its name to Play UK in November 2000. Like 4Music and Viacom's old Freeview channel Viva, the channel had music programming through the day, while broadcasting comedy during its primetime and evening hours. Most of the comedy programming on Play UK had already been broadcast on the BBC's terrestrial channels, with Play UK adding a few original UKTV-produced comedy programmes as well as a number of American comedy and animation shows towards the end of its broadcast life. Lauren Laverne
Lauren Cecilia Fisher (née Gofton; born 28 April 1978), known professionally as Lauren Laverne, is an English radio DJ, model, television presenter, author and singer. She was the lead singer and additional guitarist in the alternative rock band Kenickie. The group's album '' At The Club'' reached the top 10, although her greatest chart success came when she performed vocals on Mint Royale's single "Don't Falter". Laverne has presented numerous television programmes, including '' 10 O'Clock Live'' for Channel 4, and ''The Culture Show'' and coverage of the Glastonbury Festival for the BBC. She has also written a published novel entitled ''Candypop: Candy and the Broken Biscuits''. Chris Addison
Christopher David Addison (born 5 November 1971) is a British comedian, writer, actor, and director. He is perhaps best known for his role as a regular panellist on ''Mock the Week''. He is also known for his lecture-style comedy shows, two of which he later adapted for BBC Radio 4. In addition to stand-up, Addison played Ollie Reeder in the BBC Two satire series ''The Thick of It'' and Toby Wright in its spin-off film '' In the Loop'', starred in the Sky Living comedy-drama ''Trying Again'' and appeared in three episodes of series 8 of ''Doctor Who''. He also co-created and starred in the BBC Two sitcom ''Lab Rats''. On radio, he previously hosted the weekly comedy news satire show ''7 Day Sunday'' on BBC Radio 5 Live from 2009 to 2010. An episode is a narrative unit within a larger dramatic work or documentary production, such as a series intended for radio, television or streaming consumption. A letter is a segmental symbol of a phonemic writing system. The inventory of all letters forms an alphabet.
