The $128,000 Question
''The $128,000 Question'' is an American game show which aired from 1976 to 1978 in weekly syndication. This revival of '' The $64,000 Question'' was produced by Cinelar Associates and distributed by Viacom Enterprises. Originally, Viacom had intended to revive the series with the same title (and top payoff), but when it was announced that rival series '' Name That Tune'' would be adding a "$100,000 Mystery Tune" for the 1976–77 season, Viacom did not wish for their series to only have the second-biggest payoff and added an end-of-season $64,000 tournament to the format. Further hindering the show was that a planned deal with CBS owned-and-operated stations to carry it in major markets had to be scrapped because of the network-imposed $25,000 winnings limit for game shows (which, at the time, was also extended to syndicated games airing on the O&Os). Mike Darow
Mike Darow (born Darow Myhowich; January 8, 1933 – December 7, 1996) was a Canadian-born television game show host. Darow is best known for hosting the 1968–1970 ABC run of '' Dream House'' in the United States, the 1985–1988 Canada-produced run of the Bob Stewart game show, ''Jackpot'' (seen in the U.S. on the USA Network), and '' Club 6'' from 1960 to 1962. He also hosted the first season of the game show '' The $128,000 Question'', a syndicated revival of ''The $64,000 Question'', in 1976. The Global Television Network (more commonly called Global, or occasionally Global TV) is a Canadian English-language terrestrial television network. It is currently Canada's second most-watched private terrestrial television network after CTV, and has fifteen owned-and-operated stations throughout the country. Ranwood Records
Ranwood Records was an American record label started in 1968 by Randy Wood (after he left Dot Records) and Lawrence Welk. Lawrence Welk owned all of the recordings that he released on Dot as they were produced and manufactured by Teleklew Productions and leased to Dot. These were repackaged for reissue on Ranwood. Welk did not own or buy those recordings he made for Coral and they continue to be owned by Universal Music. Most of Welk's later recordings were released on Ranwood. The label released albums by ''The Lawrence Welk Shows cast members, including Jo Ann Castle, Guy & Ralna, Clay Hart, Tom Netherton, and Ava Barber. Welk acquired Wood's interest in the label in 1979. Ranwood's releases were mostly albums and 45 rpm singles. Norman Fowler Leyden (October 17, 1917 – July 23, 2014) was an American conductor, composer, arranger, and clarinetist. He worked in film and television and is perhaps best known as the conductor of the Oregon Symphony Pops orchestra. He co-wrote with Glenn Miller the theme " I Sustain the Wings" in 1943, which was used to introduce the World War II radio series. Early years Norman Leyden was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to James A. and Constance Leyden.
